In today’s video we visit 5 must see locations in Red River Gorge with short hike, each being less than 1 mile. Whether you’re a new hiker or a seasoned veteran, these 5 locations should be visited at least once for the full Red River Gorge experience. Since all of the hikes are short and relatively close together, it’s possible to visit all 5 locations on the same trip!

We live in Lexington and hike the gorge frequently, but you make us want to revisit the places we have already been. Great videos, and thoroughly enjoy the plant and wildlife shots as well!

With the chimney rock road closed during the winter, you can go up to princess arch and chimney top through the suspension bridge. What I love about winter, lots of exploring. I saw your other videos and I’ve been wondering how to get to snow arch and double deer arch. Thanks.

Thank you. Wolfe County resident. And did not realize there were so many shorter hikes to pretty cool arches and formations. Just wish you would comment on strenuous level on each path for us heart patients. Certainly appreciate all of the info you did provide

All of the hikes have some elevation change but nothing too strenuous. As long as you pace yourself you should be fine. They are all very short hikes.

D_Rob, hello. I'm coming from California, if you were to do only one, which one would you recommend? princess arch or sky bridge arch?

Definitely SkyBridge, you get a bigger arch and some great views. Plus if you’re coming in the next couple weeks, the rhododendron are starting to bloom!

Hmm, that’s a tough one. But I’d probably give Natural Bridge a slight edge, plus there’s a lot of other trails and features to see at Natural Bridge State Park.
