People who think PH is everything should consider that almost all the tank raised fish on the market are raised in the same water, Africans and South Americans... (breed for tolerance) you think it's so different when they get home to this guy's tank? They were born and raised PH tolerant.(maybe) ...ofcourse if you know the source raised them in the proper PH for the species that would be different....Check ! we see off pairings all the time in the Cichlid world... it's very psychological how you introduce them.... The rule book is valid to a point...good husbandry must prevail...Frontosa and Severum does strike me as very odd... like a slow motion train wreck..human beings seem to be entertained by odd things... Work out? I am proved wrong in bioogy all the time... :)... adaptation happens. PH neutral & stable is probably more importand than anything...

I'm pleasantly surprised the Frontosa's are in the same water as the Severum's considering they like different PH's. Great looking fish...

Did I see platys and guppies in there. Are they for food/hunting for the Severums or are they permanently in the tank.

beautiful. Frontosas like hard H2O, ph 8.5+ and all the other like soft H2O at ph 7

They look great, but does the fish better, ( feed and water perameters and scape ) to keep them in their correct geography.. True that many store bought fish are kept in similar conditions but in the long run the fish benefit from living in conditions they originate from. Just slowly re-acclimate them. Happy Fishkeeping.

This isn't the correct tank set up for frontosa. Ya spend all that money on those fish and don't learn how to care for them. And then severums. Really?

He has a lovely tank. You can see the fish are all well looked after. Good job mate your tank is stunning
