Thanks for the response. Yes, would have been a go around. The sun is very good other than the visibility is not correct. 1 mile vis in the sim is really more like 1/4 mile in real life. The forward visibility is much worse in the sim.

This is an actual sim that has to replicate flight to a standard. I agree there are better platforms, but they are not regulated. Kind of like android vs Apple. Adria if is a far superior operating system, but you have to know how to use it correctly. Apple always works, but is limited.

@@baronpilot2bb I believe in the case of approved simulators, it's not how realistic they are, but how much money the company the makes them gives to politicians. My laptop and Xplane with a joystick far exceeds the realism of the Redbird. But, the bone heads at the FAA are more interested in having employees that are the right race, sexual preference, and gender (or lack there of), than how well they can do the job. I'll give you an example of how stupid they are: Marana Reginal decommissioned the NDB there almost a year ago. Yet it's still used on IFR approach plates and charts for positioning! I'll use the Redbird to stay legally current. But, I'll use Xplane to stay proficient. And my own airplane course, if gas prices ever come down again. I apologize. I've just had enough of the federal government lately.

@@baronpilot2bb Maybe you could explain how the autopilot works. I flew the sim today and I wanted to replicate my airplane as much as possible;'an IFR (KNS80) 79 Archer with a IIIB autpilot. No altitude control. When I used the HDG bug on the TD2, it automatically gave me an altitude. I was always fighting the autopilot, so I had to disable it. How can I disable the altitude to use heading ONLY?..... Unfortunately, neither the owner nor the manager of the simulator knows how to work anything. And it has two ALT buttons! Take about confusing!
