Shaka, the founder of the Zulu nation, is South Africa's most famous warrior-king. He was a formidable man. But what is his story and who were the Kings who came after him?

Chief Buthelezi prince 🤴 of Zulu Nation passed away at age of 95 .Today in South Africa 🇿🇦 is state funeral. He starred in great British adventure movie 🎬 Zulu which he played his great grandfather King 🤴 Cetshwayo in movie 🎬

Their "belief system" (propogated by their Chieftan) left them believing they were impervious to bullets. Folly.

@@DerSchleierthey are highly superstitious. The iSangoma ( witchdoctor ) is consulted for most social and physical ills or concerns. One of my employees told me ( early 1990s ) that the effect of rubbing his hands on a black cat, thereafter rubbing his hands over his entire body, would make him invisible to his enemies, it would also protect him from bullets when being shot at or fired upon, among many other cultural beliefs. Ngempela, iqiniso. I lived in Durban for 38 years. While studying toward my first Bachelor's Degree at Natal University, ( early 1980s ) I studied Zulu, the language, which included Zulu History. I also took a year of Social Anthropology, considering the "shared understandings", cultural norms and belief systems of many African tribes, including other indigenous cultures situated around the globe. I also learned much through living among the Zulu people, for close to 40 years, through the process of participant observation.

In spear and shield or stick fighting,hand to hand combat belongs to the Venda And Tsonga people ,even Xhosa people are better at hand to hand and that is proven in the boxing industry of SA,most boxers are from these three tribes

Shaka Zulu killed one million of his own people and never killed an European colonizer. He used to have human sacrifice. When his mother died, he killed hundreds of women so that their children could feel the sadness he was feeling. The man was absolutely a psycho. And he is considered to be a freedom fighter!!

When speaking about Zulu kings please don't use the face of actor, Henry Cele. He was only an actor, not a Zulu king.

Shaka was actually a herds boy taking care of cattle I never heard of his father. like many black children so not from a kings background he was warrior as he grew formed a impi later became their king that is what I know u know what are flims to day they they make it more exciting to make money .he also took over tribes n ruled over them from a herds boy to a king jus like King David Shepard to a king

Shaka was a Royal son (out of wedlock) between KaSenzangakhona and Nandi, she was ousted to another Clan, where Shaka grew up to take revenge for his mother's treatment against his biological paternal tribe. He then kept on conquering more & more tribes to form the Zulu nation.
