We trusted our gut and it feels good. You would not believe the journey it took to get here! This is why we love spontaneous travel in our van! Who are we? 💁🏼‍♀️
We're Tom and Iz, who live and travel in our van La Bamba. We love nature and are currently traveling in Norway!!
You might find Tom in the forest IDing a mushroom, fixing something or starting an ambitious project with his laid-back relaxed approach whereas you could find Isabel cooking up a storm, sunning herself on a beach and being a busy, energetic bee with her endless enthusiasm and positivity! We are total opposites but it works!
How did we end up here?! 😁 ⏮
We met 10 years ago when we were both finishing our A-levels and had a whirlwind summer romance, hitch-hiking around France together before before going our separate ways to travel and to university. We've both always prioritised travel and adventure and have worked hard over the years in hospitality jobs to enable us to keep exploring.
Tom hitch-hiked across Europe and road tripped around Australia whilst Iz studied Environmental Science at York. Iz backpacked around South America with her sister whilst Tom studied Forestry at Aberdeen University. Little did we know we just weren't going to get each other out of our minds! Fast forward 4 years later, we found ourselves in campsite warden jobs, living in a bell tent in a wild flower meadow together! Maybe without realising this was the start of our van life journey!
Next, we both trained to be science teachers and during training, we bought a van, ripped out it's interior and converted it to live in it. Iz managed to get a remote work-from-home job that she could do from the van and Tom was passionate about starting up a KZfaq channel.
Since then we haven't looked back and when the pandemic allowed us to, we travelled to Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and around Cornwall. We are now on a big European road trip! We are giving it our best shot to do KZfaq full time. We have a dream of one day owning a little plot of land and building ourselves a cabin in the woods. If you're new around here you can check out our previous videos; we've been uploading weekly videos for the last 9 months and are currently releasing DAILY VIDEOS.
Our message on our channel is to inspire others to do what they love as life is too short! We love living simply, freely with less stuff but more time!
Thank you so much for watching! If you enjoyed this video please consider LIKING this video and SUBSCRIBING to our channel! It would help us grow our channel 🌻

Hey guys I’m a great follower of your vids although I don’t normally comment I feel I should remind you of the dangers of having your feet up on the dash. The airbags deploy at a very high speed and can cause serious damage to you. Great vids safe travels.

Amazing video, thank you! So cool that you stumbled upon the Troll's Church just by chance! BTW, regarding the bread prices, First Price is sort of Rema 1000's equivalent of Tesco Value. Some things are just as good as other brands but it's a bit hit and miss, sometimes it's pretty cheap and nasty! Still, handy when Norwegian grocery prices get a bit too scary.

Nordland county have by far most of the caves (usually marble) in Norway. Between Mo i Rana and Bodø have the most. Trollkyrkja is a marble cave. You were very lucky to stumble upon it.

The Trolls Church is in my Neighborhood. It's a pretty decent hike. 'Stikk ut!' is an exercise campaign in Møre & Romsdal. About 500 marked trails this year. All GPS mapped with suggested parking space, and of course a log book at the end. (Stikk ut doesn't use the log book, though, just a code under the lid of the postbox) There usually are som small stores open even on sundays and there's usually gas stations. With ONE major exception. On dec. 25 everything is closed.

Even if most shops close for a bank holiday, some smaller ones are open 7 days a week. Most little towns have at least one or two shops that keep open on sundays or during holidays, but the opening hours might be limited to like 7 pm, so no need to panic :)

It was really great fortune you stumbled upon Trollkyrkja! It is really a stunning place. I brought my family there two years ago, after I was tipped off by a friend who is from around there, and who spent much of his teens exploring those caves, before the ladders and stuff got installed.

@@LostInTransit Norwegian here. About 15% of the grocery items in Norway are from low-cost brands. That includes your choice of bread here. Wich is from one of the most common low-cost brands "first price". The low price is not because of lower quality, but removing things like an advertisement budget for these products wich all other products have. Look out for the "first price" or "Xtra" option, and you will (most likely) not be disappointed.
