Thanks guys, keep in mind that this series will mainly be of games I have NEVER played before, so it may be awhile before I talk about games i already own/played like Sonic adventure, Powerstone1+2, Shenmue, House of the dead, Jet grind radio, and a few others. I always wanted to pick this game up. Gorgeous art a little reminiscent of Magic Knight Rayearth on the saturn.

Sea Man, Powerstone, Jet Grind Radio and SKIES OF ARCADIA (favorite DC game) Those are my favs. Slave Zero was also a fun early release for the DC.

Nice. Elemental Gimmick Gear was such a budget title in its time. And as far as the few RPGs on the machine this one was a brilliant action rpg. It was originally developed for the saturn (unreleased). But the 3d bosses were the new feature for the dreamcast. Train and battle the guy in the first town 100 times to get a gyro that makes spinning not drain your health!

Although later ported to PS2 and Gamecube respectively I have found two of my favorite RPGs originated on Dreamcast. Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2.

There's something really special about this game, regardless of the lackluster gameplay. The game is beautiful and so is the music. I can't comment on the overall story as I haven't played far into it, but the idea and the way it's presented --again there's something unique about it and there's a sense of mystery and a real want to find out how things connect. The soundtrack seemed to sell out before anyone got a chance to own one. I hope this gets released on some current gen console.

Cool stuff, I'm getting more and more into the Dreamcast too so this will be handy finding some great games. Elemental Gimmick Gear is one to look out for at least, seems right up my alley. Really impressive artstyle for sure. Good luck with the series!

I forgot to also mention Ecco the Dolphin. The series first and only 3D title Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future. I had a lot of fun playing this, controlling a dolphin in a 3D environment is loads of fun. A sequel was in the works and got canceled. It would be awesome if they resurrected this series on new gen consoles.

zombies revenge was such a silly but completely fun game I remember playing it for hours with my cousin.

MDK 2 is definitely an essential Dreamcast game, though really hard. I never thought I'd see EGG mentioned anywhere, but I guess I was wrong. If you read this comment (Pete Dorr), I'd like to recommend a site called racketboy. It has this hidden gems section that is absolutely fantastic for finding unknown games for all different systems.

I do a similar thing called 'The Quick Hit' where I play a game for a couple of hours and then put up a casual review, like you said it just makes more sense in this environment and means that you can put out more content, great minds think alike : ) Also great idea reindling the love for the Dreamcast, I'm going to enjoy this series : )

A racing game called speed devils!!! i loved this racing game for some reason and im really not into racing games very much if you try it out i think you will really enjoy it. you get to bet for cash and your opponents cars

YES! I have a dreamcast but i only have fighting games. I want to pick up a good collection for it.

Off the top of my head, I'd recommend Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, Zombie Revenge, Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage, Outtrigger, Maken X, Mars Matrix, Cannon Spike, Tech Romancer, Gunbird 2, Bangai-o, Time Stalkers, Illbleed, Carrier, Giga Wing, Giga Wing 2, Skies of Arcadia, MDK 2, Seaman, Project Justice, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Super Magnetic Neo, and Samba De Amigo (but only if you get the Maraca controllers).

Pete awesome video idea! i'm a huge dreamcast fan myself and one game you must try is called "Seaman" till this day there isn't another game out there like it, it's very odd and interesting at the same time

You were th one who gave me the idea to start collecting Dreamcast games because you didn't do much with it. Time Stalkers is pretty enjoyable, along with Super Magnetic Neo it's a good Crash-like game except with magnet puzzles, Plasma Sword, Mr. Driller, and Silver looks pretty good.

You should check out Wind & Water Puzzle Battles. It was made by a group of Independent Game Developers named Yuan Works. It was released in 2008 to celebrate the Dreamcast's Anniversary, and it is a very entertaining puzzle game and comes highly recommended.

Wow..that looks pretty amazing indeed, love the integration of the different graphical textures on one screen..it just pops, 3D like...very stylish . Even if the gamplay isn't that great..I can still walk around and enjoy the graphics for a long time. I've never seen this game, great choice to review. I'm gonna have to start a DC collection soon.

I never owned a Dreamcast and in fact barely played but I remember playing it my first time at a friend's house and play a Rayman game. Not sure which but I loved it and loved the feature with the little screen on the controller. Why don't you check the series out for Dreamcast + the controller feature if you haven't yet.

Aside from some of the major games, I really liked Toy Commander and Fur Fighters.

This is going to be a great series, have you got Expendable this could be one of my top games for the DreamCast its like a arcade top down shoot everything game

cool hidden gem i didnt know about this game but most of the main DC games are on PS2 and GC now i was looking into that and about 40 of the main dc GAMES were on other systems now

Great Idea Pete, the DC is a fantastic but totally underrated system. I will def. check out "EGG" (I saw it the first time a just a moment ago ^^), and I hope you will find some more perls, that you will show to us. Awesome idea for a new series! The Dreamcast was the first Sega console I actually noticed back in the day; I don't remember seeing any Saturn games at the store (though I'm sure they were there, haha), but I do remember seeing Dreamcast games when they came out. After the Genesis, Sega's story is so full of woe T.T

Toy Commander 2 is a unique game that has tons of action and great multiplayer.

This game is awesome. Do much more of this series. Most underrated system ever. Ps3 took a shit so can't play skyrim cause to broke to fix it and it makes me want to cry. But been playing egg, skies of Arcadia, and Grandia 2 to put a band aid on my withdrawals for skyrim cause not seeing any extra money anytime soon. Pissed. But getting to play old classics on dc at least I guess.

It looks pretty good, but it appears that your punch has slightly too short of a range... I love the opening cutscene though, very beautiful, not many games have stuff like that anymore.

Floigan Brothers is a very good but also very underrated game...

You should check out Seaman if you haven't already. Its a very unique game which makes use of the Dreamcast's microphone. Its even narrated by Leonard Nimoy!
