This was some GENIUS portrayal of being in an abusive relationship. The fact that the boyfriend wasn’t shown literally, only the things that he was throwing. It’s a nod to how BLIND abusive relationships can be, and how despite her pain, she doesn’t RECOGNIZE that he’s the issue! Just like most of society, she is ALSO blind to his abuse due to caring for him. This is fucking PHENOMENAL! (Performing this as my final senior solo for the end of year concert with my band. This is gonna EXPLODE.)

Ex step dad is now 6 feet deep and my mom is living her best life, grew up learning how to fight a grown man while trying to protect her and getting knocked out, the weak will always try to hurt those they can to feel strong. My wife and kids will never and have never known that kind of pain. This song hits every part of my heart to this day.

That's not surprising. This would be a very surprising top 10 if if it made it. This is so alternative that it shouldn't have any expectations of being top 20. Then factor in that they're a one hit wonder coming out of nowhere and 23 is a miracle placing

REAL men won't hurt women like that. REAL men won't scream and yell and throw things and punch his girlfriend because he had too many drinks. REAL men won't take his anger and frustration out on the one he loves. And REAL men won't make a girl cry herself to sleep at night because she's covered in bruises she didn't deserve. HOWEVER, if a girl does those things to a guy, he has the right to defend himself. So yes its wrong for men to abuse their wives or girlfriends. But I know for a fact that some women come home after a bad day, too many drinks, or with a lot of built up anger... And beat the shit out of their husbands or boyfriends. A man hitting a woman for no reason is no worse than a woman hitting a man for no reason. Just thought I'd clear that up.
@nutyyyy
@nutyyyy 9 жыл бұрын
Teresa Lansdowne Basically, don't be a bully or controlling and treat people the way you want to be treated, its not so hard :) Also, its good to point out how women are often, in fact at least 50% of the time the perpetrators of abusive behaviour in a relationship, I think because they don't see it as wrong, which is a shame, doesn't make hurting anyone right. You should always be able to defend yourself though.

Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Face down in the dirt She said "This doesn't hurt!" She said "I finally had enough!"

DO YOU FEEL LIKE A MAN?! My favorite quotes...

This shows that there's more to a relationship than violence and taking from your partner and that a real relationship shows trust, loyalty, forgiveness and above all, LOVE. Something I had to learn, being on the receiving end for a long while

+Crystal Jones - It's not easy, especially when you try to make excuses for the other person ("he didn't mean it" or "he was drunk" or "he apologized and I know he loves me"). It's even worse when you feel like that person needs you and if you walk away, then you're not being supportive or honoring your vows. It's even harder for people who are co-dependent, or financially rely on an abuser and feel there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Glad you were able to finally find some happiness, and yes folks, sometimes being alone may take some adjustment, but I promise it's much better than being at the receiving end of abuse. Being alone is better than being with the wrong one. As Marilyn Monroe said, "It's better to be unhappy alone than unhappy with someone..."

+Natalie K. great post. I spent a lot of years in codependent relationships before I even realized what they were.

I’ve never been in an abusive relationship but I was in a relationship for 10 years that was mentally draining. After 10 years I said ‘I’ve finally had enough’ I listen to this song to remind me of the strength it took to get out. I love this song❤️

"I finally had enough" Words that means a lot to yourself. Sometimes, being selfish will help you a lot physically and emotionally. Letting go may be hard, but holding onto things that hurts you more is beyond crazy.
