Pacer is what you play when you want to chill out, bump some music and drive. Redout is what you play when you want that "Hold on to your nutsacks!" type speed and energy.

Another vote for Pacer, i actually like the slightly slower "pace" of game as at my age (50) i tend to slam the walls more than most. Music by Cold Storage is bloody great aswell. Some great sound in Redout aswell in particular the wind effects.

Lol, I’m 55 and they both look breakneck speeds to me! I played Redout and Wipeout to no end(cuz I still play them)… it’s time to give Pacer a shot!

Redout has massively superior physics. Something moving quickly isn't can't turn on a dime. It just feels like shit when something in a video game does.

How does redout have superior physics? Pacer looks more enjoyable to me. Redout seems like an generation 3 Playstation game.

@@CheersToYou007 Redout has real quadcopter physics. By superior I think he means more realistic. And thanks to that it feels faster than Pacer and not so "jiggly" when turning.

@@CheersToYou007 redout has a far superior sense of speed and the physics aren't nearly as stiff as Pacer, in redout you dont get that heavy slam on jumps because youre actually using an AG racer

Pacer looks like it's going for that Wipeout feel, and Redout for a flashy Podracer or FZero feel

Pacer has a nice sound scheme and grounded aesthetic. Weapon chunkiness is a plus, but weapons in racing games need a lot of tweaking and accommodation to make them fun. But definitely prefer Redout for the thrill of speed and buttery smooth controls compared to Pacer. I do wonder how Redout might fair with full fledged combat weaponry.

Pacer looks like a side-grade Ballistic NG to me but with less speed. Not so appealing. As well, the sense of speed in Pacer is MUCH slower due to how far off the ground the camera is. In Redout, whoever in hell was piloting that ESA-AGR was playing like garbage. That was a Class 4 ship. You should have a decent grasp of Abruzzo's tracks by that point, even if you're not making 1st, even without the Magnetic Stabilizer upgrade. You can get a better sense of the game's full speed when you have a decent player behind the controls... For BOTH games, I should add. I don't think I got a very fair impression of Pacer.

Redout is def faster but Pacer looks to have more polished solid- looking graphics from the clips shown here at the expense of speed.

Redout has cartunish graphics, but to be fair, i think this is one of the appeals of the game, it makes things more simple to identify as it also turn the game into some nice piece of art

I was looking for a Wipeout "replacement" and found Pacer. I was quite disappointed, it's good for the weapons but it felt SLOW. And the jumps... I mean, you drive AG vehicles, how are they so anchored to the ground? Then, I found Redout. And it has been love at first sight. It's incredibly fast and you can do jumps long literally kilometres, it's really amazing and adrenaline, doing race after race is addicting. I dropped Pacer after like two races.

try bng, it's like wipeout but low poly and the speed classes can get so much faster, plus it has mod support.

I mean Pacer felt about as fast as wipeout to me, maybe a little faster, like early it's slow but by the last cup I was crashing into everything. Not fast compared to redout but I've yet to see anything come close.

@@Idolhands360 It is, though I have a few issues, I really struggle with the speed challenges, like the scores set seem a little high. I miss the gate challenges the 1st game with the spike mines, they were fun. Also cups don't feel like cups in the game, it's supposed to be 1 race after another. It feels more padded out than redout 1, other than that I really like it.

As a huge Wipeout fan I was majorly looking forward to Pacer, and damn was it a massive letdown. Terrible game Redout 2 caught my interest, but having released today I'm yet to see any reviews or basically anything at all about on whether it's any good or not. Visually it certainly looks a lot more like it to me, but the lack of reviews leave me hanging off for now.

@@Victorcolongarcia Pacer is really good to me, the handling could be better but once you get the hang of it its fine. Redout 2 is the one that was disappointing, the first Redout was alot better in every way

@@ninjascroll1017 I ended up buying pacer. I liked the graphics, music, handling.. everything on point. The only problem were the modes. A bit too basic but still a good game. The new Cold Storage tracks + new tracks = happiness 😍

Pacer so slow and physic sucks. In redout you are literally driving an aircraft, you can fly off the ground for huge distances at crazy speed. Graphics are very different Redout is more like from an other dimension, very abstract et minimalist.

Pacer is closer to Wipeout and next is Quantum Rush. Both games that don't try to be F-Zero GX level of crazy, and F-Zero GX crazy is something I never liked. So Pacer wins.

You see, Redout is a game about SPEED, and yes it is FASTER and CRAZIER than F-Zero GX, wich for folks who love RACING, this is the game for it, Wipeout and Pacer more about fighting than RACING, so much so that the vehicles are SLOWER, Pacer if slow a little bit more, and you would be better playing World of Tanks, this means they aren't PURE racing games.

Why does every futuristic racer have to be an ice skating simulator? Redout, Pacer, Wipeout. If I wanted to grind a rail I'd play SSX. Give the vehicles some damn grip! These things can literally control gravity...but momentum is just too much. F-zero and the Star Wars Podracing games are the only futuristic hover racers I have ever found enjoyable to drive...because the vehicles actually have some semblance of grip.

F-Zero later on like F-Zero X and GX were so unrealistic in terms of controls and kinda too gimmicky on top of all things possible. And the one racer that was kinda static that was Killer Loop.

Just because it is futuristic, doesn't mean it SHOULD have perfect grip, in Redout you even have a grip power up that give you almost perfect grip, but if you are using the realistic logic, this just means that maybe folks in the future don't actually care so much about grip, after all, they have respwan, so why bother with safety?
