Yeah I bought a pair of fakes of a Chinese website. I’ve listened to the originals and I can not tell a difference. I paid like $30 for the fakes 😂

It's literally impossible to tell. Mine came with a dead knock-off charger (which is what initially tipped me off about them possibly being fake). However, after watching this video I'm even more unsure than when I started.

Check if the case has a white led colour when you open it if it is then it's original most of the time

yeah the only problem with that, is if you buy a refurbished one, it doesn’t do that because they have been used before. if you buy them “brand new” then it should flash white first time you open it

Be careful people can still buy that side tab sticker and stick it on the box. The way to make sure it’s fake is if you pull that tab with arrow on it down it will just come off and not take off plastic. Almost got scammed this way.

I got the same super copy as the one shown in this video but with a fake side pull tab, but when I removed the pull tab, it didn’t unseal the box...and guess what, even the serial no. On the box was copied from an original airpods pro! I was so mad, I sold it to another person for the same price for which I bought it 😂 (115$)

I was going to buy Airpods Pro but then found some good clones (Navapods). Everything is literally the same as on the original airpods but they cost only 60$ I think. Crazy. Sure, sound isn't exactly the same as on my friend's original airpods pro but he paid so much more lol. I'd say the sound quality is about 80% compared to retails. Even the active noise cancelling works lmao.

Yeah man. I bought Airpods pro from this one kid who was selling claiming it was real. I gave him 20$ for that. I was mad at first when I realized it was fake then when I compared with the original one, I was like thats a pretty good deal I got.. lmao.. The fake one works as well as the real one so Im cool with it.

Thanks for this vid! Turns out I bought a fake pair. Bought a new pair of the real ones and compared them- they do sound a little better to me because they are bass-heavy and they even connect to find my iPhone. The main difference I could see was the fake ones had darker writing like you said and the real ones had lighter grey writing. They are so good at fakes!

the thing is, i’ve bought my 1st gen pros off of ebay for 80$ they were listed as “refurbished”, and after viewing everything you talked about in the video, i am certain they are real! i was weary that they were fake, but then i realized noise cancellation actually works + transparency mode also works. it’s either they are real, or they are some good ahh fakes! thank you for your video !

I now know that I own a pair of fake AirPods Bc of you, thank you. But I can confirm that the transparency mode and noise cancellation does work on mine, the sound when you put the AirPods in your ear is different, and one more difference is the little silver at the bottom of the AirPods is connected by a thin line

These are all over Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. The dead giveaway is to look at the serial numbers. Each individual AirPod and charging case must have different serials. Also when you connect it to your phone it should show the serial number of the charging case under “settings/Bluetooth”

The charging case LED and earbud text is the same in my fake ones ;) However, the charging cable is a bit hard for the plugin. So I think that can be another indicator. Sound quality is not bad at all but I never used an original one so hard to compare... cheers

So mine turned out to be fake because the pop up screen looks like the fake one but the ones I have look totally like the authentic ones like they literally have the same grey colored text on the AirPod pros like they look exactly like the authentic ones with the same grey small text on the bottom of it but I finally started noticing the little details I’m kinda sad cuz now I have go and return these to get some new ones

You can also tell by checking if they populate in hardware in general settings. If they don't then they are fake. If they do they are real

@@Wheewhee12 if you have the airpods(or any apple product for that matter) connected via bluetooth to your iphone or ipad, if you go into settings, then "general", then go into "about", when you scroll and read through the options you will see the connected apple device in this area. In this area you will be allowed to click the name and information about that product will show including , manufacturer, model number, serial number, firmware version, and hardware version. If you only see your device in the bluetooth area, but not also in this area... chances are they are a fake product. Only down side to this is of you are buying new you wont be able to do these steps... but by using the visual tips from this video such as the classic wrapping difference you may be able to spot a fake before getting this far. But this may work perfect for those who are buying used products.

Yo thank you for this. Today I had someone selling them to me and 2 things seemed off. The tab on the side just came off and it didn’t open the box. Also, when I connected them they didn’t show up in the settings. They looked so genuine and real and it was fresh out the box! Thanks for saving me. I’m lowkey considering just getting the fake ones now cuz the quality was amazing.

i bought the fake ones and honestly they weren't that bad except for the fact that the ear piece kept falling off and that the ear piece broke apart completely in 2 months (and the noise canceling didn't work) . Other than that the headphones were pretty neat but if I were to buy them for 249$ instead pf 30$ id probs want my money back cuz im paying 250$ for noise canceling so.

I got the real ones and the fakes and literally the only difference was the tape around the cable. They felt the same and sound quality was the same.

What I got out of this: The fake ones work just as good as the real ones, so just get those, nobody will now they’re fake, and you get them cheaper. 🤷🏽♀️

I might not know if mine are fake but I saw the charger part and you didn’t compare the USB-C type is very different from the original, I just found that out on mine. Thanks for this video but I still can’t tell if mine are real AirPods still cause the serial number is both on there but shouldn’t they be the same when connected to the phone?

I got such a good copy. The only things what's missing the spatial audio option and the noise cancelling doesn't works. But the sound it's great everything else works even I checked the coverage on the apple website and it's look ok. The wrapping aswell it was like on the original

The serial numbers on the AirPods are off-center from the black dot microphone thing on one of the models. I don’t know if that printing would always be in the same spot. I assume it should be right?

Great video! My wife just purchased these fake pros from eBay and thanks to you I was able to determine their authenticity. We opened a return case. Also I open them and the interior is a dead give away as well!

Do be careful, my older brother went to a pawn shop and he was selling multiple fake AirPod pros he realized it was fake and pawn shop guy didn’t want to refund him, and the end he actually refunded but my brother lost $80, so he went to Best Buy to buy the original ones. Sucks to see pawn shops abusing their power of trust.

Just discovered mine are fake (not surprised..), "a friend of a friend" sells them for $65- and I decided to risk it. Honestly, the function and quality is great. They hold a great charge (both the pods and the case), audio quality is solid.. etc. The ONLY thing that sucks, and the only reason I even looked into their authenticity is the mic quality. The mics are basically unusable. That all being said, I can't say they're a bad deal for the money.. and if anyone has a fix for the mic situation, let me know!

Has anyone weighed the sealed boxes of both the real ones vs all of the fake ones out there? That may be the best way to compare the two. It would make sense that the real ones from Apple would be consistent with their production with the materials used and with what goes into the box.

The fake ones are actually not too bad I tried to replace the ear tips and on the right one it was okay but on the left one well. The whole freaking black speaker thing broke off however I was able to easily click them back in place. And the sound is okay not too bad and they work well the real ones of course are better but they are still decent if you have fake ones don’t worry you won’t need the real ones it’s basically the same.
