You're hurting like crazy on the inside, yet you grin and bare it."

He’s incredibly badass. He’s a very subtly and well written character. He carries a lot of pain and it’s his backstory that makes him badass. Also of course, his moments where he’s a cool gunslinger.

I don't think Vash is as much of an idiot as he lets on. I think what he really is is a massive troll. Vash knows the way he acts is goofy. He does it intentionally to throw people hunting him off his trail, as well as diffuse situations to avoid killing anyone. In a sense, he's sort of masking both out of necessity and as a coping mechanism to handle the pain he's been through. The glimpses of the real Vash that we catch when things get serious are some of the most startling parts of the show.

I think my favorite part of this video is knowing that in the last part where he's like "well I guess that's all! bye now!" is that literal seconds before he was telling meryl and milly it would be dangerous for them to be with him anymore and then he just proceeded to disappear from their lives for a few years. it's so sad but so funny lmaoo

I'm so glad Jonny is Vash's voice in Stampede, even if the japanese actor is pretty good, I fell that he's way softer than the VA in the original Trigun, and Jonny Yong Bosch gives Vash the perfect amount of intensity. Can't say the same about the spanish dub, he sounds way too calm...

Vash is such an idiot. I love him; he never fails to make me laugh. There aren't many anime characters I know of like him. I just wish they expanded the series a little more. There's a lot of great plot detail they missed from the manga. It doesn't have to be exactly like the manga, but the manga made Knives' motivations make more sense.

I like to think Vash's situation is like a Clark Kent/Superman one. He can't let people know he's the most wanted man in the world because then he'll be forced into conflicts that could risk the lives of innocent people. So what does he do? He plays the fool to lower their expectations.
