A level can be checked for accuracy very simply. Place the level on a flat surface and mark the position of the ends. The surface does not have to be level. Take note of where the bubble is, or what the degree reading is. Turn the level 180 degrees horizontally (keep the same surface of the level touching the surface) and place the level in the original spot. If the bubble or degree reading is the same in both directions, the level is calibrated properly.

I'm assuming you run Stabila? I have bought a dozen of their levels over the years and I can say with confidence, the digital Milwaukee levels are better than anything Stabila makes at the moment. Empire is another company that specializes in levelling equipment, but nearly all of their products are junk... As a matter of fact we just threw out several Empire squares due to them not being square lol.

I would be interested to see these still functioning in 10 years given that I have stabila levels that are closer to 20 years agreed not digi levels but still! I do find this interesting but am like I say not keen on these companies being my one stop shop for tools, to each their own as for empire well I think most of their stuff seems a bit junky and we don’t see their levels over here!!

@@hillsvardisgrimm Milwaukee digital levels are rated for a higher accuracy than Stabila and the warranty is longer. Stabila makes great spirit level but Milwaukee is leading the industry in digital level.

TTi (owns Milwaukee) bought Empire, who specializes in measuring and leveling.

Worth it in my opinion!
