Ok but.... A thought crossed my mind while I was watching this. WHO THE HECK PAYS FOR THE WEDDINGS?! Like I know the farmer pays for the bouquet and the wedding amulet and the house renovation and stuff but what else? I know the logical response, which is that your bride/groom-to-be pays for it, right? When you're marrying Penny... yeah, no, that isn't an option. She can barely afford her mother's dinking habits, she doesn't also need a wedding on the financial plate. So, assuming you're marrying Penny (this could apply to any other marriage candidate, but we're using Penny because she can't afford the costs and she has a legitimately good reason for her lack of wealth. Harvey kind of does too, considering the clinic doesn't do well, but Penny was the first thing that came to mind) there is literally nobody to pay. And the farmer clearly doesn't pay, because no gold is seemingly coughed up. Just everything we see in-game, it's an arch, a couple of outfits, some confetti, yeah, that's it. Still, arches are pretty expensive. Yes, they might reuse old stuff from previous marriages, but the outfits. Who last wore this outfit?! How old is it?! And then you consider same-gender couples. Considering the amount of houses, an general context clues, I think all the marriages up until the farmer, or up until sometime after the farmer, were all straight ones. Which is really bad when you're trying to recycle outfits. You imagine the upcoming wedding, you get the outfits and oops, turns out you need two bridal gowns and two tuxedos. And even though a single pizza is worth six cabins, you can't tell me all this comes for free.
