Here's a defined and elongated wash and go technique I learned from using the rake and shake method with Jane Carter Solution new Curls To Go collection for super curly to coily textures! Be sure to check out their Instagram @JaneCarterSolution for today's takeover + giveaway announcement!
I learned this method from the beautiful Actually Ashly 😍( / @actuallyashly ) . We have different textures but both got amazing results!

My hair color:
This a custom color job, created by a stylist at a salon, using a professional system not available in beauty supply stores and which requires a valid cosmetology license to purchase--no I do not know the name.
Bleach was not used. We have been lifting my hair lighter and lighter over time using developer (which is not bleach) since October of 2015. I will not post a video on how to color because I am not a licensed cosmetologist and I will not give directions on how to use chemicals that I do not have a good understanding of. If you'd like help with achieving this color, please consult a LICENSED professional who specializes in natural hair because coloring will alter your hair and can damage depending on your texture and the process.

I have never heard of this method. I do rake my hair products into my hair, then at the end i shake my whole head to separate the curls. For me it turns out the same way as what you just did, but i dont shake the hair in separate sections. Thanks for sharing.

Love your channel!! 😍 Your hair texture is so closely related to mine. When I do a wash & go there's always a white flaky residue left on my hair 😣 Idk if it's the gel or moisturizer but there's always white stuff left in my hair 😝 Do you have any suggestions on maybe what I could be doing wrong?

I need clarity about a video I saw earlier. The girl had loose, wavy hair, and she made a statement that "curly girls NEED sulfate." and had the whole comments full of naturals agreeing with her and dissing co-washing and deep conditioning. I was under the impression that sulfate wasn't healthy for natural hair?
@GaDiva769
@GaDiva769 7 жыл бұрын
In my opinion and what works for my hair---I use a sulfate/clarifying poo about once a month or every 2 months. Sulfates help rid your hair of buildup and hard water deposits, etc. That's my opinion and experience. I wouldn't use one every wash day nor would I cowash exclusively because I have hard water.

+GaDiva769 I agree. And there are safe and unsafe sulfates... it really depends on your texture. Some ppl think it's crazy to only deep cleanse 1-2 months, but I know for a fact my hair dries out when I shampoo back to back.

Daye La Soul notice you color your hair often. Do you notice any difference in your hair texture? For example,are your curls looser? I had color put on my tips and my curls aren't as curly. Greetings,your curls a very loose from the start of your demo especially from using chemical coloring. Chemical coloring loosen the curl pattern plus over time creates a inflammation under the scalp that can cause thinning and CCCA central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia which is a scarring alopecia or other forms of alopecia. Chemical free is the only way to have a healthy scalp Empress I say this to you because I work with a board certified dermatologist as I'm enrolled in a hair loss academy. I'm a Natural Hairstylist/cosmetologist. However only have a chemical free environment in my natural hair salon I see situations that will lead to scalp problems if not corrected in the early stages like preventative action. Blessings Empress I like your KZfaq channel

+Valerie Price how do you know it's from coloring without ever seeing my hair without color? My hair is wet, that's why it's not tight in the beginning. Wet things stretch. If you look at my videos where I only have the front colored you'll see that the non-colored areas are the same pattern, so what made up theory do you have to explain as to why the non-colored area is loose as well? On top of that, my curl pattern has gotten tighter and tighter over time even though I continue to color so let's also hear what your imagination has to say about that.. And how would you know the condition of my scalp? You don't know because I haven't shared it. I'm assuming it's healthy given the amount of growth I've experienced and the lack of issues I'm having with it. Now thank you for your compliments, you're absolutely right, coloring alters hair, and I respect your chemical-free choice but you can keep your unsolicited and uninformed opinions on MY hair to which you have no knowledge of to yourself, because I can almost guarantee that there's no chapter in your lesson on Daye's hair and clearly you haven't taken the time to see my transformation.
