The instructions here don't "reduce the output file size of openshot video editor" these reduce the file size of a file produced by openshot... Here are better instructions: 1. From the Export Video dialogue change ‘Target’ to ‘MP4 (h.264)’ (in OPENSHOT Video Editor) 2. Change ‘Video Profile’ to ‘HD 720p 25 fps (1280x720)’ (or w/ever you want for quality) 3. Click the ‘Advanced’ tab 4. From ‘Video Settings’ change ‘Bit Rate / Quality’ to ‘1.5 Mb/s’ (or less) to reduce the file size. (Default is 15.00 Mb/s ***)

Wonderful post. I made a basic music video with 3 minutes of audio and a static single image illustration and ended up with a 63.4 MB file even with low resolution settings but I reduced this to a reasonable quality 3MB file using the VLC convert method you suggested. I found the first VLC option of "Video H 264 and mp3 [mp4]" worked fine for the purpose of having a user friendly file to upload to KZfaq . Again thank you.

Oh, this didn't work at all. The resulting video file (yes, it's much smaller) had no audio for most of the video, and when the audio did show up, the quality was greatly reduced.
