Even more hilarious than I remember from the '60s. I may start using it again, at 72 yrs old...😄

In the 70s, this played for some time at the Midnight Movies. People would come and get high while watching it and laugh their A's off. This film did more for the spreading of pot use than any Beatles song or any other endorsement ever could have because of its ridiculous exaggeration. It also helped create a distrust of government at the time of the Vietnam War and Watergate.

You have to know that everyone using green at that time probably watched this and laughed so hard😂

I saw this in 1936 when it came out. It was part of a double-feature along with "The Only Depression Going On Is In Your Head". Don't kid yourself, this is what pot smokers acted like in 1936. They said it was because of something that communists were putting in the pot, and they were right. Things were better in earlier days, especially before 1915 when we hung out at the drugstore soda fountain, drinking glass after glass of soft drinks that were as refreshing as they were at getting rid of any problem we might have had, physical or otherwise. There was some famous Doctor at that time who said that the stuff that was being put in the drinks was the greatest thing ever, I saw no reason to disagree.

One of the few natural plants that our creator gave us that does nothing of the kind in the movie’s opening. This movie brought to you by Rockefeller oil/pharma/AMA… et al.

The judge orders him to stay in the courtroom for the case of the guy who actually is guilty in order to witness what he nearly escaped, but didn't he literally just witness it as the accused himself, all the way to being found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging?

Always amuses me that Mary's younger brother Jimmy never has to face any legal consequences for the fatal hit and run accident he is directly involved in. Is in court when Bill is exonerated for the death of Mary. Meanwhile, Blanche, is so consumed by guilt that she commits suicide, even though she didn't kill anybody. Always have a lot of laughs watching this one.

This same judge was on the Three stooges several times.

Yup, watching this to get a good laugh. Like OMG really? People did not go to clubs seeking to make kids smoke pot! How odd? It is more like kids sneak out to go dance and seek pot.
