Thank you for your instructive video! Unfortunately I ran into a similar scenario, but after many hours of search, I found that my RODI/ Salt station had few corroded metal faucets and polluted the water. Sadly, I had many losses, but now my tank is on the right track again. Congratulations for your channel! You are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, and keep on with your channel! Cheers on 2022! 😉

Good idea on the molycoat! I gotta get some. Good luck on removing tin. I fought a long battle with it.

Yea, I think it's probably the rust around the edges. Repainting it this week. Fingers crossed! A single tube of Molykote 111 will probably last you forever, a little goes a long way. You can get it on amazon/ebay pretty easily if you can't find it in a store.

Extreamly useful! I have been looking for a way to reduce very high levels of aluminium in my tank and did not know that Rowaphos would do the job. Cheers chum.

Everything was dead on except just Sn - tin with ICP test. I inspected sump magnets and pumps. Only thing I found was one rusty screw in sump I removed and I put spare heater in and retired older heater. Kind of a vague topic as I see no other sources.

Good stuff, no vortech problems but higher aluminum, people say it can be from marine pure blocks?.

Yep, I've heard that too. Ceramics can leech aluminum sometimes.

Got my ICP test and have high aluminum... could it be from the biomedia i use? All my equipment is fairly new and looks good.

I think some aluminum can come from fresh pvc. I know some ceramic biomedia can also do it. I wouldn’t worry for now, maybe do a test in another month or so and see if it comes down.

What do you say about adding new long pvc tubing to the tank. Since I have had a shocking increase in Tin as well Two months ago 9-22-2022 I was at 26ug/L and now 125ug/L+ 1-12-2022. While actually running rhowaphos to reduce zinc. And bought new tds meter and both new and old show 0 tds on incoming water.

Can you run cuprisorb with suspected heavy metal in the tank without actual testing? I found magnetic debris in the sand.

Yes, you can for sure. It shouldn't hurt anything.

Actually this made no difference. My tin is still high, but it has went down a bit. At least it's not going up, and I don't see any I'll effects. I'm still looking for the source.

@@ReefMan I am with you looking for a source, just because I want to do the best for the animals, but not finding a source or seeing much ill effects in the tanks. I own an aquarium maintenance company and I am seeing high tin, or at least what Triton calls high tin, in multiple setups.

@@jongordon3507 Triton is the source of my testing too. I also agree - I always try to provide the best care for the animals, but I'm sort of at a loss on the source of this tin. I'll update everyone if I do trace it down. For me, it's ONLY Tin that's high which is also odd.

Yea that's what I do. I cut the stem off and glue down the top of the plug. You can also cut the frag off the plug and directly glue the coral down too.
