They have no idea what's coming. When referencing their eventual break up, John says "We'll go on holiday." Paul mentions not enjoying big band music and later records with classical ensembles. George uses hand gestures to illustrate the difference between 'Beatles' and 'beetles.' Jimmy, most likely wearing Ringo's suit.

@@cordellsenior9935 The way I heard it, the issue was debated, until two books were identified about them using stand-ins when they were still touring. I don't know if one referred to this or not for sure; but if memory serves, one or more masqueraded as members of the Fab Four. There is a notorious pic of a bunch of ppl on a boat, with no fewer than three who look like different versions of Paul.

It was a short lived moment for him, but something he will remember for the rest of his days. A very lucky man. I don't know that Jimmy was in the 'Get Back' film, It wasn't that they all became good mates after those 2 shows he did with them. I didn't notice him in 'Get Back'.

@MrRobChuck You are right, They only had each other to bounce off! Ringo wasn't there, or he would have been in the banter!. It's all about brain storming, so each pick up on what is being said, to carry the banter, this is all they are doing here, but with the 3 of them. Jimmy was well out of place, he would have been feeling that separation from them, it isn't easy being the odd person out of step with what is going on. How Jimmy answered the question on how he was feeling about filling in for Ringo! The question is put to him is he feeling it hard to fill in for Ringo, Jim looks at the other 3 Beatles, as if questioning how do I answer this, (come on guys help me here) He answers that he was feeling confident and in control of his role as the drummer of the Beatles! So he takes charge of his position in that moment. By this time he had a pretty good idea of the 8 songs that he was required to play for each show they did, in the lead up to this press conference. He was sitting next to John Lennon, who was the leader of the band back in these times, John would have made Jim feel that he would be OK, (Just stay with me, and everything will be alright) John also at this time wasn't hiding the fact that he was married, and he was open to the question's being asked about his marriage. Ofcourse, the other's weren't married, and therefore were uncomfortable regarding question's about marriage and relationship's. Paul was dating Jane Asher at this time, he met her during the filming of 'A Hard Days Night', and George had met his first wife on the set of the filming of 'AHDN'. So during this interview, both Paul and George played down the idea of marriage and relationship's! incase the Beatles popularity might be affected by the possibility of them being in relationship's! Both were at this time! the very reason John is stirring Paul and glancing at George, because he was enforcing that it is OK to be in a relationship, indicating that he and his wife had a baby on the way, and John was happy and delighted by this happening in his personal life. George indicates that he hasn't found the right girl yet, but at this time he was very into Pattie Boyd, who he did eventually marry for a time. Paul was very much tied to Jayne at the time of their first world tour, that took in America and Australia. Infact, John took his then wife Cynthia on that world tour, a lot of photos prove this. Jimmy Nichol may have been married, and he was a bit older than the other 3 Beatles. When they're asked about what type of girls they like, Paul tries to answer by saying all girls are nice, and gets a bit out of sorts, because John is stirring him up. George tries to keep light of it all by keeping the focus on John and Paul, but makes light hearted banter from the question's being asked, as he always does. George's answer's always contain sarcasm which gets a laugh. I notice Paul feeds off John's remarks and wit, so he elaborates, by trying to take it a step further, but it is John's spin, that provoked Paul's extended answer. The question being about whether or not they play other instruments, besides what we saw at that time! John says we all play a little bit of other instrument's, and refers to playing mouth organ and can play a little piano, and looks at Paul, and Banjo! Paul takes over by saying he plays a little piano, indicating, it to be a little (sized) piano! John leads that banter, Paul followed suit. Jimmy didn't fit their wit, their's came naturally after years of hanging out together, they all had a sense of humour, a sense of wit and each other. Apparently Pete Best never fitted their oneness together, and wouldn't hang out with them, or their aquaintence's, (their crowd) he was moody, quiet, and out of step with them. They didn't know Jimmy, or he them, they were thrown together in a moment of a unexpected health issue, ( Which can happen to anybody at any unexpected given time!) Jim was available to step in at the time. He may not have been the drummer of choice, but who else was there?! Obviously when Pete Best was told he was out, he did say in an interview that he hadn't heard from any of them since that took place! So obviously it left everything between then in bad standing, and the door never reopened for Pete. Some of these comments I have read here, are obviously all from non musician's, who wouldn't know a good drummer from an average one. Pete Best was a very average cabaret/60/40 style drummer, he had no feel or light and shade, I've heard him play, and he is very average, and he is the reason the 'Decca' session was not up to scratch. This showed at the EMI session's, and it was suggested by EMI, George Martin and his engineer at the time, who was a singer and song writer himself, who played around the trap's at the time, and recorded his own songs, and released records, these people knew that Pete wasn't up for it! Obviously the powers to be took full control of the Beatles session's, and made the changes, to try to get the best possible outcome for all concerned. The Beatles themselves had no say or input into the session's. All negotiation's were done between EMI and Brian Epstein at the time. At the very beginning, George Martin did try to change what The Beatles were!!! Eventually he saw their talent, their song writing abilities, and their spontaneity that they had between them, ending up with 'The Beatles' having complete freedom in the studio, which a lot of artists never acheive!. They knew what they wanted, at the same time, they were open to suggestion. George Martin liked their sense of humour and fun, In the end, It all worked out, for all concerned.

@@nevillede-hoedt6520 "John Lennon, who was the leader of the band ";you said. Untrue. The Beatles were so precisou, they never had a leader. They were not like the other bands with leaders. @nevillede-hoedt6520
@nevillede-hoedt6520 Ай бұрын
@@dabreu Have you looked at the 'Get Back' film, it is very obvious who is in charge, John and Paul, but Paul after 1966 was the driving force behind keeping 'The Beatles' together and recording album's. Once John met Yoko, he stopped being the bands leader, up until then, John and Paul were the band, because they wrote ,most of the songs, and collaborated on a lot of songs together. 'Get Back' shows that George and Ringo had next to no say, in what they were doing in the studio. During the making of 'Get Back', George Harrison officially leaves 'The Beatles', he said during the film, that he wanted to record his songs, and get other people in to play on his songs, and wanted to hear what his songs would sound like, and have an eventual outcome to his own songs. Not being a selfish soul, he indicated that he thought it would be good if each of them would go and record on their own, with their own songs, away from 'The Beatles' influence always being the influence on all their songs. George wanted diversity. George ends up coming back to help finish the session's, knowing that afterwards, it was all over as far as he was concerned. There was definately a different attitude going on once George returned. Paul was less controlling, and they seemed to get through the sessions without any heated moments. John and Paul seem to connect easily with one another at all times, getting into each others atmospheres, by mucking about, on a very different level than they were with George and Ringo. Apparently Ringo said in an interview, years later, that he would record his drumming on songs when they were together in the studio, only to come back the next day, to find that most of his drumming tracks had been deleted, and replaced by Paul McCartney's drumming in place. He didn't like it, but couldn't do anything about it, so he put up with it, and got his share of the money in the end, anyway. Ringo always remained easy going through out his time as a Beatle. John was the band leader, until Paul came along, after John met Paul, John had met his match, and both men connected instantly. There was an instant like, love for each other, a respect that remained through out their live's. Paul was totally devestated by John's death, and took him a long time to come to grips with that loss. Ofcourse when the Beatles resolved 'The Beatles' contract with each other, John, Paul and Ringo each went down hill with, "What am I to do now" each became very lost soul's, depressed, drug and alcohol infused mess. George unlike the other 3, was elated, his attitude was "Free at last" and he was delighted by the final outcome. The Beatles run together began in 1958, 10 years later, in 1968, The Beatles were over, never to be again. In that time, they had conquered the world, became the most popular band ever, on the planet. Their legacy will last forever. Don't get offended by these facts, these are 'The Beatles', they aren't, and never will be any other band.

@@Cosmo-KramerIt's complex 2 pinpoint the mind of a Gemini at a single moment. They're the most chamilion@mentally changeable sign of the Zodiac. Whatever Sir Paul was thinking, In seconds it changed from nice to cunning to hiding to serious to Sly then adjusted to laughing. Gemini's can adapt 2 anything@anyone easy.

@@dannyboyd9462 Now that I think of it, I did know one, just for about 6 months. I guess I blocked her from my memory because she was batshit crazy. She actually prided herself on being capricious, and obviously, was a serial liar. Paul is also a serial liar. And backstabber. True to his sign, the twins, he has a split personality. I actually can't stand him. lol

Odd! The spelling of Jimmie's name is the same as a girl I knew. Dudes went by Jimmy here in the U.S. Perhaps in the U.K., even the masculine spelling ends in (ie).🤔
