I just got a Whitetail Maxx 9 days ago. First thing I noticed out of the box was the top limb bolt Allen key hole was stripped at the surface. Luckily, the hole is pretty deep and I was able to back out the draw weight. Second thing was when I set it to my drawlength and drew it back, and heard/felt a click. The bottom cam was leaning away from the cable that the drawstop peg hits. Only half the diameter of the cable was contacting the stop, so the stop would slide past the cable making the click. I fixed the factory screw-up by moving some of the cam shims so that the bow actually tuned. Furthermore, the shims between the top and bottom cams weren't even the same. I ended up making the left side shim thickness at both cams 7/32", and moved the extra shims to the right side of the cams. This made the string plumb with the riser; perfectly set the arrow centershot exactly at 7/8" parallel to the riser, and corrected the bottom cam lean so the drawstop peg made full contact with the cable. I cut off the 4 string grubs on my string and installed real brass speed nocks with shrink tubing. I copied the pattern from my Bowtech RPM 360. This resulted in 50% less felt vibration and noise. Also increased arrow speed by a few FPS, as the grubs were heavy and slowed down the string. The Whitetail Maxx is also faster than my Bowtech Solution SS that's shooting a 360 grain arrow at 27" and 71# at 271 FPS on the Comfort setting. And at half the price (bow-only) of the Solution SS, the Whitetail Maxx is a real winner!!!!!

As a former Bear Escape owner, I wanted to look at this bow but all Bear dealers seem to carry are there low end bows. Being a lefty is also problematic. Ended with a different brand because trying bows in lefty, there is not much choice.

Confused af as to how the sight level and the bow level could possibly be different

the sight is adjustable so it can be put in or out of level

Hey there Melvin. Yes it would seem that your sight and bow would be level just bolting it together. And usually it is when the bow is vertical. But the problem comes in when you draw your bow there is torque from the cables and sometimes your grip pressure too. This twist the bow slightly. As you aim down or up the slight twist will cause the bubble in your scope or sight to be skewed. This will make you cant the bow to level it out and you get left and right misses. The 3rd axis on your sight allows you to cant the front of your sight to offset the torque. This can only truly be setup with the bow drawn back by the person shooting it and set to level aiming up and down. Hope this helps you understand why the 3rd axis is so important. If your bow had zero torque it would not be needed. But they all do because the cable’s can’t be in the middle.

@@jamesshepherd7727 I forgot I even commented. I understand the third axis and how you can twist the bow and mess up a shot. What I don’t understand is why the bow and the sight need a level if one is level so is the other one. Hear me out if that was a thing there would be competition shooters using levels on both their sight and bow.

@@melvintroyer6662 it means you don't have to buy extra leveling equipment in order to tune your sight to your bow. Also means that you have a backup if the level on your sight happens to break
