Siedah Garrett famously wrote 'Man In The Mirror' and 'Keep The Faith' for Michael Jackson, as well as took part in the duet with the artist, 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', which was the first single from his 'Bad' album.
Taken from several interviews over the years, Siedah reflects on the time she spent with her once childhood idol, recording and touring the World together, and the significance he played in her life and career.

13:37 i broke down ,that triggered me, it's overwhelming because i have no dreams but travels and singing, i've been struggling with depression and anxiety disorder and loneliness for years,these days i've been having panick attacks everyday, i just can't seem to find my place in this cruel world and do something that i love,i'm too sensitive and have no skills, where i live i couldn't find a club where i get singing/vocal lessons, i never got to do something i love. Although i have 2 bachelor degrees, i was forced to do smething i hate and pushed beyond my powers, i feel so drained emotionally and can no longer stand pressure i couldn't apply for master degree and with my social anxiety and zero motivation i'm even afraid to get a job..even going out is difficult because my underdeveloped country is unsafe, i wish i meet someone who changes my life, if it weren't for my mother who supports me i would end it all

I’ve always felt Siedah Garrett is one of the most underrated singer songwriters ever. I should’ve known she was set to join MJ on the Bad tour she would’ve been a PERFECT fit. No disrespect to Sheryl Crow. She’s got good solo music, but I’ve always felt she was totally wrong for MJ’s sound in so many ways. I know MJ chose her in the end but still I disagree with him on that. Love me some Siedah she’s so classy and talented. She deserved greater fame for what she could do and did bring to the world.

@alonzotanner1226
@alonzotanner1226 9 ай бұрын
@@mizzmini45she said she was chosen because of her down to earth home grown image. Honestly I think that could be a part of it but it’s hugely because Siedah Garrett had to pull out of the tour to do her own solo album. She had done almost a months worth of rehearsals with MJ and his team when she got the offer from the label. I wish they didn’t do it til after the tour was over because she would’ve been the perfect female voice to his singers. She was incredible during the Dangerous tour so that’s the proof.

I never knew the actual story behind the "song of my life". For ever since I can remember, "Man In The Mirror" has been my favorite song. The Bucharest Dangerous concert probably had some influence over my decision of making this my favorite song of all time (the whole prep for "rocket man" and how "he" left the stage). As I grew older the actual message of the lyrics started hitting me and it all came back full circle a bunch of times when I was in desperate need of compassion, love and inner strength when this song ALWAYS popped up in my shuffled playlist (2000+ songs) to give me this virtual hug and pat on the back. I have a really emotional connection with this record and it will forever be my favorite song of all time. Thank you for putting together this video, it had me tearing up by the end.
