As Rishi Sunak appeals to Reform UK defectors to stick by the Conservatives, Tom Swarbrick speaks to Reform UK Leader, Richard Tice.
Tice admits to Tom he'd be happy with a referendum on whether the UK should leave the European Convention on Human Rights.
The conversation also touches on offensive tweets by former members of the party, with Tice acknowledging there have been 'racist comments' made by some, but insisting that they have been 'dealt with immediately'.
Regarding the chance of further Tory MPs detecting, Tice states that he'd be surprised if more didn't join Reform by the time the general election comes around.

Well, there are many who would say the current Tory party aren't really conservative, hence why Reform now exists. Similar to how many "old-school" lefties want actual socialist policies and don't see New Labour or Blair as being "proper Labour". Many have said for ages both parties would eventually split, but I guess on the right Reform has risen instead of that split happening. For the left, I'm not sure what may happen? There isn't any new left-leaning challenger I'm aware of (outside of the SNP).

Some facts to bear in mind should you decide to support this kind of lunacy: The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) protects a wide range of fundamental rights and freedoms. Here are some of the key ones: Right to life: This includes protection from unlawful killing by the state and a duty on the state to take steps to protect life. Right to a fair trial: This guarantees things like the right to a public hearing, the presumption of innocence, and the right to legal representation. Right to respect for private and family life: This protects your privacy in your home, communications, and family life. Freedom of expression: This includes the right to hold opinions and information without interference. Freedom of thought, conscience and religion: This covers the right to practice, teach, and change your religion or belief. The ECHR also prohibits certain acts, such as: Torture and inhuman or degrading treatment Slavery and forced labor Arbitrary detention

@@brucesrandomnessI do. Read it more than once. It explicitly says “the UK will implement the ECHR rights into British law”. And the rights have to apply to everyone in the country. So Sunak would either have to break the GFA to put some people on a plane or reunite the Island of Ireland. Break the GFA and the EU trade deal lapses and the US will react too. Tice doesn’t have to care about this because he will never be the PM who has to deal with this problem.

How is it that almost Everyone I’ve seen on TV, Radio or Online, claim that they didn’t/don’t support the Brexit thing . But the referendum resulted in Brexit so Who actually supported the Brexit thing and what was the Main/Biggest factor in support for exiting the EU? Lastly, was Race/Religion the leading factor for the Vote or was it the Economics/Financial aspect ??
