This film, "Last Night in Soho", and "The Tragedy of Macbeth" are all my favorite films of 2021. Top-notch production designs, haunting scores, exquisite performances, and some of the best writing and directing this year. That's those qualities of what the three films have in common.

great analysis of an excellent movie! You saved me a lot of pondering. It's brilliant that Peter's sexuality stayed ambiguous through the end, and the gayness of Bronco and Phil was revealed. I got switch of the power dynamic in the cigarette and "naked?" scene, but didn't want to believe that Peter killed Phil intentionally until you explained it. Bravo!

Geeez, am I the only one who thought Peter is a psychopath? Kind of like Dexter, a psychopath who eliminates other psychopaths. Even Peter's father recognized his son's lack of empathy, saying he didn't think the boy had enough kindness.

I think Phil had no where to go with his sexual needs. Bronco brought him into a relationship and finding another one like it was going to be hard to find. Specially early 1900s. Even the porn had to be hidden. The brother had more opportunities to find love. And he did. Peter was a feminine, long slender, lanky, artsy, caring, considerate, loving, but not gay. Jane shows you the difficulty in finding honesty and living honestly as a human.

The cattle in this film were awesome. The colors each cow possessed, the way they walked, the way they would utter each mooooo in that special way that only cows can. That was really cool that the cattle were brought to New Zealand from Montana for that touch of realism. I think the film would have been better if one of the herd was picked out and brought in to direct.

Seeing Jane for the first time with her difficult glasses already made me feel a bit suspicious. Then I heard Al Pacino tell the following, and to me, she fell right through the basket. Real hard. Real fast. And For Ever. Read this, please. On a talkshow, Jane said to Venus and Serena Williams: " You two are a marvel. But you don't have to compete against men, like I do." I'm sorry. Is this pompous, narcist, borderline, or all of the above. She couldn't have said anything more sexist and condescending. I definitely gave up on Jane. What you think, should I still give the movie a chance? (Of course I will. I'm not like her)

With that logic, neither The Good, the bad and the ugly, A fistful of dollars or Once upon a time in the west would be considered "real cowboy flicks", and those are probably some of the most iconic westerns there are. It's a movie *about* the american west, that's what makes it a western.
