You're right Karan I was also confused. Because as far as I remember , the code says that it should be able to emit smoke for at least 10 SECONDS when submerged in water of 100mm

1978, as amended. The same is issued by DGS and the format is recommended by the IMO.

@@HIMT thank you sir Like if we have now 2010 stcw certificate and this will be going to expire in june 2021 and now what we have to do the refresh or fresh as 1978 amendment So we have to do all basic stcw or only refresh PST& FPFF (as there 5 years validity)? Sir can you please explain me this ?

Hi, as per me the answer is A, Because the spare Life Jackets are kept on bridge and Engine room for the watch keepers and this is as per the ships LSA plan so those are not an additional but an spare. Additional life Jacket i would consider means extra above the plan and are in compliance with the SOLAS and flag state administration. SO the answer will be "A" hope it make sense...
