Refreshing an IKEA Classic using Recycled timber - RÅSKOG Trolley Top

4 ай бұрынIkea sell this functional and strong, Three Shelf trolley they call a RÅSKOG and it comes with a Bamboo wooden shelf lid which I really like for its functionality. I do not however love the look of bamboo boards and so in this video I will utilise a left-over panel I glued up for the Pacific Folding Bar project last year. These Jarrah tongue and groove floorboards sand up nicely and due to being recycled timber, are not likely to bow or twist and are usually cheap making them perfect for simple shop furniture.

Definitely try the 3M Xtract Cubitron II sanding discs. They come in a mesh or solid with multiple holes. The mesh is best for dust collection, but the solid ones last a bit longer. Both are better than anything else on the market (IMO). The cheapest place I've found them in small quantities is Sydney Tools, but I think Hammer Roo might do better pricing for bulk quantities (50+).

Pricey, thanks for the recommendations, How are they for tearing and exposing the veltcro surface, or is that what the pad saver is for?

@@fairbairnfurnishings I've never had one tear. The mesh is quite robust. They wear out around the edges slightly quicker but they work so much better they're still good value.
