It will be a little difficult to explain in English. The concept of this show consists of two stages. They take one well-established singer like Yulia Parshuta or others, and the best newcomers like Diana, Alexey Chumakov, Alexander Panayotov. Then they are given the part that they have to sing, to practice a duet, separately from each other. No one knows who they're singing with. Then they hide the newcomers from the audience so that they can guess who is singing behind the wall. In the middle of the song they open the wall for the audience, At the end of the song they open the wall between the singers so that they can see who they are singing with. What are they doing? They create an involuntary jam between two great singers.

In this show, your partner's altered voice sounds in your headphones, so much so that you won't be able to identify an adult or a child, a man or a woman. A normal voice is heard only when the mirror rises between the two performers and they see each other. Moreover, they rehearse only their part of the song, so the song itself is pure improvisation. The show is amazing, watch it again, there are a lot of interesting duets.

Да, ребятам будет полезно почитать официальную концепцию.. Но вы всерьез верите в это? ТВ - это сладкий обман. Как можно без репитиций разложить одну партию на две части? Без репитиций договориться, когда Юлия будет петь внизу с Дианой, а потом поднимется выше... Вы верите в легенду? ) Но шоу все равно хорошее )

@@user-bo2kq8fy8y Вы сейчас серьёзно?)) Они профессионалы с огромным стажем и музыкальным образованием. Разложить песню по строчкам и по голосам для них не просто, а очень просто. А эмоции, которые испытывают артисты после поднятия стены, подделать просто нереально. Так что, не выдумывайте то, чего нет))

Hi both. "Duets" is purely a enjoyable singing show where two singers are paired together but, they don't know who they're singing with and rehearse separately. When they're on stage, they hear in their earpieces the distorted voice of their partner - the distortion ceases when the wall rises and they see each other. Julia appeared on "ShowMaskGoOn" with Diana - she is the girl in red when Diana sang "Can't Help Falling In Love". Hello! Duets, this is a show, not a competition. Julia begins to sing, then an invited guest unknown to Julia and the audience, that is, Diana, picks up the duet! Julia and Diana each perform their part separately, their partner's distorted voice is heard in their headphones. @@user-bo2kq8fy8y Запросто можно разложить одну партию на две и даже на десять частей. Ну и почему же без репетиций, тебе просто дают тетрадку с нотами и расстановкой тонов, твоё дело петь только так (конечно же в пределах твоих возможностей), репетируй сколько хочешь. Например, начальная опера ставится точно так же, шаг в лево или в право - расстрел на месте.

@@user-km1kh8uz2f мысль понятна. Я конечно не спец в этом. Но в раздельной подготовке сильно занятых исполнителей можно предварительно встретиться, можно делать онлайн репетиции. В данном случае, если все по-честному, что будет, если они репетировали отдельно, а на сцене оказалось, что режиссер плохо просчитала совместимость тембров и вместе получилось не слияние и не контраст голосов а что то унылое? Как тогда быть? И всё таки там Паршута начинает внизу, а в конце поет выше. Мне кажется, это тоже сложно спланировать раздельно. )

@@user-bo2kq8fy8y думаю ставится только то что можно ставить в программу, для этого режиссеры и нужны что бы сразу убирать унылое. Я в детстве учился в музыкалке, но не доучился (поэтому тоже не специалист), но преподаватели, формируя дуэт, видели кого с кем ставить, и всегда вначале работали с каждым по отдельности. Вообще я просто предполагаю что так может быть и в этом шоу, но как оно на самом деле конечно же не знаю. И конечно же в любом телешоу на первом месте смотрибельность, а уж честность... это если не идёт в разрез качества продукции.

Greetings from Scotland! H Mike, Hi Jess! Watching two fiends suddenly realise who they were singing with was a special moment, for us, and them! I see that everything has been explained in the other comments so I will just say - beautiful to see and beautiful to hear too! I should maybe add that this was not Yulia's normal deep voice and she had to work to get down there, well done Yulia! As Toni Braxton was a natural contralto, this was just another day at the office for Diana! 😊😊

As usual the wife is always right. You saw Diana singing The show must go on in this Duets show. By the way the tricky part of the show is the singers not only can't see but they can't even hear each other while the wall separates them, they have 2 ear monitors, that blocks sound and only hear distorted voice of the other. So their reaction to each other as the wall raises and voice clears is genuine and sincere. And you can instantly see if they only give a professional smile, or a heartfelt joyful reaction (more on Weit Media YT channel, full show and backstage show, season 3 episode 3) Diana met Yulia in ShowMaskGoOn (she was the blonde red dressed girl holding her head after her Can't help falling in love), where 9 singers performed 9 songs in 9 styles and rated each other. It was summer, spotlights, temperature well over 45 Celsius! (~112 F) You can check *Julia Parshuta Cinderella* performance from there (she has strong voice but here she painted gently skillfully creating a mood that's why i love this song, many "perfectly imperfect" sounds, even grunts. :) )

No rehearsals and the audio feed between them was distorted to prevent them from recognising the other's voice. The joy when the mirror was lifted and they realised who they were singing with was real. They had become good friends on 2021 ShowMaskGoOn. Julia, a fellow contestant, came fourth in that show. She was the juror in red who at the end of Diana's "Can't Help Falling in Love" put her hands to her head to express he shock and awe at Diana's performance.

She was the blonde that put her hands on her head after Diana's Can't Help Falling In Love performance. You should check out her perfomances on ShowMaskGoon of Human, I'll Never Love Again and Bohemian Rhapsody and others. She is a fantastic singer in her own right and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

No rehearsals, they only practice the song a few times, they could not see eachother and the voices were distorted. Very impressive. Yulia is a Mezzo Soprano, so she can go deep, but not nearly as deep as Diana the Contralto with a uniquely dark timbre. I believe Diana sang an octave to a half octave lower than Yulia during this song. From what I understand there was a fan voting on the shows official site for the best performance and DIana and Yulia were voted #1. And no, there is nobody who has a voice like Diana, nor one so beautiful and unique and there likely will not be again. The surprise that they had for eachother is especially charming with the backdrop of their warm interactions and clear mutual admiration on the Show Mask Go on, where they became friends. Очень, очень , очень ЛЮБЛЮ Юличку. И как исполнителя и как приятного человека и наконец она прекрасно лицом,душой. Но ВСЁ РАВНО остаюсь при своем мнении: только ДИАНА знает,как не перегрузить произведения,только ОНА и ни кто более. Каждый раз слушаешь ...где же будут ее крышаносные,вокализы,мелизмы высокие на уровне свистковых и на низшие ноты. И БИНГО - они есть и тогда начинаешь слушать очередной шедевр 24 часа в сутки и так по кругу. УДИВИТЕЛЬНАЯ АРТИСТКА!!!

Yulia is a magnificent singer, she is a Mezzo Soprano, you can compare her with Shakira or Celine Dion, although Mezzos can go very deep, deeper than Sopranos inevitably can not go as deep or as full as Contraltos like Diana and in this duet it is apparent. The lowest Yulia went on this was an F3 when she said the lines "I can't forget the day you left" on 4:17 and if you look closely she does not move around she closes her eyes in concentration and she even counts with her left hand, all indications that this might be her lowest possible limit, she is a Mezzo not a Contralto like Diana. Diana as a Contralto on the other hand sang almost the whole song around that F3 no problem and she went as low as an A#2 -> C3 - C#3, she was at least half an octave lower than Julia at all times so that is why you are able to pick Diana's voice compared to Yulia's other than her extremely recognizable unique timbre as you said. Great duet i hope we hear more of them in the future.

I think you can also tell that Yulia is a mezzo by how high she can belt compared to Diana, generally contraltos can’t really comfortably sing into the 5th octave in chest voice and it sounds like Yulia was doing quite well up there. And as far as I know Diana’s very upper limit is around C5 before she has to switch to head voice, but her most comfortable belting is more around G4 and A4

@@hearingninja In her most recent interview Diana said that she can reach D5 on chest and that is already insane. I doubt that Yulia can do a C5 chest.

@@Kwstas_Vagias I would be very curious to hear Diana do that considering I’ve only heard her reach C5 two or three times. It’s crazy how wide her range is getting, though in that interview she said her lower range ends at C3 but I feel like she’s gone lower than that several times before

@@hearingninja Yeah but remember that in the same interview Diana said that the last time she was measured was a long time ago and that she does not measure herself now because there is no point for it, her voice evolves constantly on her age and that she will do it again when her voice sets. She just answered with her old data. The interview it self is quite old too, it was before the Sochak interview, right after the mask show, like 8 months + old. I think that the last time Diana measured her limits was when she was 18 years old ,just before "Showmaskgoon". She did that in preparation for the show. I believe that "Can't help falling in love" was prepared as a declaration of her vocal abilities and it was meant to demonstrate 3 octaves. I think that marginally missing that C6 on the live show was a fluke.

@@Kwstas_Vagias So you think she was able to go for C6 and higher at 18, even though she didn’t show it? Interesting food for thought. I guess she is slowly revealing her abilities as time goes on, I wonder how she’ll choose to unveil her whistle register since we know she can do that too. I also wonder if she’ll ever write a song that uses a large portion of her range as in CHFIL, though I doubt it considering how she has said before that few people listen to such songs

They are not hearing the others actual voice, it is a distorted version of the other's voice in their earpieces, so it is a total surprise at the end

One the singer's don't know who they've been paired with, two.. until the center wall goes up, they both only hear a distorted voice from their partner(only the tone is saved to help with matching their voices. they only get to see who they have been paired with when the wall is high enough.... if you liked this one... then look up her doing "The Show Must Go On" in the same show...

Julia and Diana are very good friends. Julia also wrote a song commemorating the heroes of WWII called, 'Month Of May'. That song was sung by another vocal prodigy Daneliya Tuleshova from Kazakhstan. Daneliya sang it to honor her grandfathers when she was 13. I'll give you the link to that performance. I think this maybe the show where to singers rehearse the same song in the same key but apart from each other. Похоже у Юлии какой-то глубокий богатый женский альт, а не меццо-сопрано, но я не сильно специалист, но конечно же это красиво тоже очень-очень. Хотя как видим и другими голосами и техниками она пользуется блестяще.
