Yes, the absence of Cephas is puzzling. However, it is a very strong team. Amal Knight deserves the recall and he is certainly in our top three goalies. A third keeper had to be called because once the squad # touched 23 and above, a 3rd keeper had to be named. In terms of calling Stewart, it may be as coverage in case Leon Bailey doesn't heal up well by Friday. He did get a rough tackle which caused a bruise in the game against Fulham. My headscratcher would be the naming of Aamari Bell who has missed his last 2 club matches due to injury. That said, there is adequate replacement in case Bell cannot take the field. Greg Leigh is quite good and Lembikisa can play at Left Back. All in all the squad is balanced. Let's watch the ride!

I think it will be a tight tie over both legs. Canada may be weaker than they were say a year ago but its the same players, and they have experience together of playing in these competitive games that actually mean something. If we're being honest this is arguably Jamaica's biggest game in several years and certainly the most important tie this group will have played together. I think we have the capability of beating them over two legs, but focus, discipline, patience, killer instinct, and mental toughness will be key. Concacaf just announced that the Finals will be played in March 21-24 in Dallas, Texas. This means that all 8 quarterfinalists will be there in March to play for top spot in the Nations League and the remaining spots in the Copa America. I'll definitely be there God's willing.

I definitely agree on what we need to do to beat Canada. They also had a coaching change recently so there is that as well.

Underestimate Canada at your peril! They're hungry for Copa representation! Gold Cup and World Cup heartbreak should make them well motivated opponents. JA have the attacking tools...but that midfield battle... KEY!!!
@jamericanyouthtravels16528 ай бұрын
No, I’m not underestimating Canada at all. That’s why I said I’m glad we have all our big guns because we will need them. I’m glad we have Antonio and Pinnock in the same squad because if we are to beat Canada we will need them along with all our others like Bailey, Gray, Reid …etc. However I think we are better than Canada on paper (I know that doesn’t win games). We just need to be more organized and composed than they are and I think we can beat them when you add that to our talented squad. I agree that the midfield will be a battle because we have not seen a very solid midfield as yet for JA. We tend to be very defensive there and somewhat ineffective.

@@markadahibbert8888 I think I misread what you wrote. I thought it was Boza starts off the bench but it was actually Boza starts on the bench. A lot of people believe he will be on the bench so I understand. The coach will probably do that.

Trivante Stewart,went straight to the Serie A,he never went on a trial,get u facts straight.He wus bought straight from MPA .
@jamericanyouthtravels16528 ай бұрын
Okay yes I understand. He was recruited from recordings of him playing JPL but I meant that they assessed him themselves and decided to buy him for the squad.

Really? They beat us 4 - 0 the last time we meet, now we're much better than them? We'll see on Friday! We're not even scoring goals, but we're suddenly better than Canada, joke talk.
@jamericanyouthtravels16528 ай бұрын
Yes but you have to put the 4 - 0 loss in context. Jamaica started 5 JPL players in that game in Toronto. We were not exactly going for the win. Jamaica pretty much gave up on the World Cup campaign at that point. We fielded a much weaker team. Now we a have a professional coach, a stronger squad and more consistent performances. We even finished ahead of Canada in the Gold Cup. I submit to you we have a better team on paper but I do agree that it is not going to be easy.

@@jamericanyouthtravels1652 on current form. Jpl second top goal scorer last season .a straight move from the jpl to seria A. Boza was on the bench for hus club been poor for jamaica for atheist 2 years. Stewart should have made the team from gold cup( on current form)
@jamericanyouthtravels16528 ай бұрын
@@markadahibbert8888 I guess this is where we will not agree. Boza Is the player with the highest amount of goal scored for Jamaica in the current squad. Even more goals than Leon Bailey. Boza also lit up the Belgian Pro league scoring double digit goals and is now a starting player for a Ligue 1 team (top 5 league in Europe). Trivante is good but doing well in the JPL does not compare to what Boza has done so far in his career. Trivante would have to at least have a good season in series A before he can even begin to be compared to Boza. Trivante is not there yet. He may get there one day but today Boza is a better player.
@rayonwhyne39298 ай бұрын
Tactically Boza is better than Stewart do you ever look at him in games even when he is not scoring? He came off the bench once for his club and now he starts every game!
