It was really after she won the Asia Pacific Singing Contest when her career started to take off to stardom. There was no stopping her at that point. Ibang level kasi ang pagka-panalo nya sa contest na yon. Naging signature song nya ang And I Am Telling You at sya talaga ang nag introduce ng song na yon sa mga pinoy. Nakakatindig balahibo din ang rendition nya ng You’ll Never Walk Alone. I think it was in those two songs na unang nagpakita ng kakaibang level ng taas, power, at galing nya sa pagkanta. Her belting ability at that time was unparalleled and really shocked the OPM industry. Lagi namin syang pinag-uusapan dati sa school, at laging inaabangan ang mga performances at bagong album nya. Naalala ko gradeschool pa suki family ko panood ng Sa Linggo Napo Sila. Saulado ko pa ang jingle ng show gang ngayon. Parang ang bilis lang ng panahon. Indeed, Regine was a blooming singer. Pero naalala ko Sharon pa muna mas sikat noong mga taong to. Pero they are part of my childhood.

I was only grade five noong 1990. 😂 1984 pa sya nanalo sa bagong kampeon. Pero nakamulatan ko na, na may isang magaling na singer na kumakanta BABALIKANG MULI na napakinggan ko sa fm radio noong ako ay nasa high school na. At ang pangalan ay REGINE VELASQUEZ. since then naging fan nya na ako until now of 2022.
