Love to Ethiopia from Italy. Fun Fact #1: Did you guys also know that Ethiopia helped South Korea during their war against North Korea, I think correct me if I got it wrong. Fun Fact #2: In Ethiopia there are a small amount of Italian schools, I know this because I was born in Italy but I grew up to the age of 7 in Ethiopia and went to an Italian School where they basically teach you stuff but in Italian. To the Ethiopians out there I reeaaaaaallllllyyy love your culture and language, which is why I converted my religion to Orthodox Christianity, and I'd appreciate it a lot if you tell me more facts by replying to my comment. Love to Ethiopia 🇪🇹 from Armenia 🇦🇲! Fun Fact: We are both the only Apostolic Christian nations. Edit: to clarify, I mean that the Amharic people in Ethiopia have the same church as us which you Ethiopians call “Ethiopian Orthodox, which is extremely similar to our Armenian Apostolic.” , we both have VERY similar Alphabet (search it up). And we both make same style coffee. Cheers to the Best country in Africa, From Yerevan 🇦🇲

@abdi z With the exception of Oromo, all the other regions you mentioned have small pupulations, hence why the Christians make up the majority of the population. You can google that information yourself. But it doesn't really matter which religion is majority. Christianity and Islam are not that different from each other. Ethiopians of all religions have lived together for centuries without a lot of problems and that should be a source of pride.

This video is not comprehensive; it was only created to serve as a primer not to encapsulate or punctiliously describe Ethiopia in its full entirety otherwise the video would not have been this short. I recommend that you at least comprehend a modicum of a subject before discharging an opinion.

The word "ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊ" (Ethiopian descent) literally means that anyone who has an Ethiopian ancestor, wherever they may be born. You can't take away their genes. If you're into historical landmarks, you should definitely visit Gondar castle and Lalibela. I'm no expert on giving advice, but i wouldn't recommend retiring to this country after a 2 weeks visit, unless you have relatives there, or are married to an Ethiopian, or speak the language. Then there's the issue of ownership of property which is complex, unless you're just renting. That's just a few obstacles, but it's definitely worth visiting.

As a Somalia I went to Ethiopia last year 2019, it was my first time i been there..in Addis Ababa it was really nice place and i met friendly people..my trip has changed my perception about Ethiopia generally...as you know there have been many wars between Ethiopia and Somalia for centuries..i came to know that the problem was not really from the Ethiopian people but from the politicians who come to power which they try to pursue a fascist policies against their neighbouring Somalia. It was really different from what I thought...thanks to the people of Ethiopia i hope we will live in peace and have a mutual respect for each other. I believe if we would have been friends from the beginning we would have established a good partnership in many sectors mainly economic partnership and cultural integration where we share a long border and cultural similarities as well as our Cushitic background. Somalia would really offer Ethiopia a sea access for port and Maritime transportation for their economic backbone. Let’s just collaborate peacefully we really need each other than our differences.

13:25 That ”Ensete” stuff kind of reminds me of ”Pettuleipä” (”bark bread”). We actually made it once at camp school back on 7th grade, to get a feel for, how Finns persevered through ”Suuret nälkävuodet” (”the great hunger years”) of 1866-1868. I absolutely loved it, it tasted like perfectly normal wheat or oat bread, and even the dried ”pettu” (”tree bark”), itself, tasted delicious, it was like healthy potato chips. Really just the idea of using wood material for food is, what reminded me of that; otherwise the dishes have little to nothing in common. The ”pettu” was also incredibly difficult to harvest, as it’s really not the outer-most skin of the tree, itself, but the extremely thin layer just under it.

@ Hassen the habeshas are cushites slightly admixed with semitic blood from south western arabia. Hence the similarities in phenotype. Its nonsense to blow this out of proportion. Story goes that Helios, god of the sun, let his mortal son drive his chariot to drag the sun across the sky for a laugh. In 1948, Britian turned the Somali territory of Ogaden over to Ethiopia. In 1977, Somalia invaded Ethiopia in an attempt to regain the Ogaden also known as West Somalia and Somali Galbeed. Because of alliance, the Soviet Union supplied Ethiopia (also supported by Yemen and Germany) with over 15,000 Cuban troops and Soviet militants during the 1977-78 Ogaden war shifting the advantage to Ethiopia and resulting in Somalia's defeat. The Ogaden National Front (ONLF) still continue to carry out guerrilla activity in the region today. Somaliweyn or Greater Somalia has not been lost in our hearts. Once we rise again, the mission for unification will continue in the future. Inshallah.

Not to mention the fact that the Ogaden region was actually part of Somalia and it was given to Ethiopia by the British colonials. 99.9% of the population favor Somalia and hope that one day they reunite with their country🇸🇴❤️

Somalia itself is a colonial creation anyway, somalis never lived in a single nation, state or empire
@mikailm6934
@mikailm6934 3 жыл бұрын
@Ibrahim Hassan dumb*ss, where did I say Somalis never created any kingdom or nation? I only said they never were all united under a single entity, which is true. The ajuraan empire to his height went from Kismayo to Qelafo, so not all Somalis were under this empire. Adal was only in Somaliland, not central and southern modern Somalia
@mikailm6934
@mikailm6934 3 жыл бұрын
@Ibrahim Hassan means they never lived under one ruler(king, emperor..) so their modern situation isn't that different them being ruled by several governments(Kenya, Somalia, somaliland, djibouti, ethiopia and maybe more in the future)
