Jean Grey is Marvel Snap's latest card, and he's an absolutely perfect fit for a Guardians of the Galaxy deck!
Decklist: snap.fan/decks/255253/
Power Estimate: This deck felt really smooth to play, with Jean Grey creating a natural flow that both counters your opponent and offers lots of potential power. This is far from a refined deck, but for a day-one build, it won a lot of games, against both bots and humans alike. Time will tell if this shell still looks good once there's a larger sample size of games to consider.

Are you aware of how bugged she is right now? She works NO MATTER WHAT. And I mean that. Works after Enchantress, works under deep space or when face down. She works even after turned into a pig or transformed into a symbiote. Truly Omega level power.

Don't forget about about how if her and Goose are in lane together and you opponent has no cards under 4-cost it locks them out of every lane.

This is basically the exact deck I played to get to infinite the first time, 2 seasons ago. I've been so excited to get Jean Grey to put her in this deck (I'm just gonna get her through the caches). Very happy to watch you pilot it successfully, it gives me hope haha

I can’t be certain but I’m pretty sure that last deck you played against was a Negative deck, each card that they played had higher cost then power and were all cards typically seen in negative lists.

I'm pretty sure it was a Mr. Negative deck being played by somebody who had no clue what they were doing since anyone who did would have retreated on turn 4. Jubilee is also a noobtrap in Mr. Negative decks which reinforces my belief they had no business playing the archetype.

Silk isn't used for consistency, she's used for confusion. Same reason people use Titania but Silk's effect is better since it's a lot harder for your opponent to manipulate.

Maybe Living Tribunal has some synergy with this deck? If you're hitting consistent Guardian plays thanks to Jean, than you're guaranteed to have one super loaded lane and Tribunal could spread that around?

What if you pair it with goose? As some say it's buggy right now, I'm asking about future interactions based on actual card text. If the opponent has only 4,5,6 cost cards and goose is present with Jean in one lane, the whole board is locked? Or they can play in the remaining two locations?

I've been playing Guardians Control for about 2 seasons now, and I feel like it's very slept on. I have Kitty, Nightcrawler, Silk, and Jeff swapped for Daredevil, Shang Chi, Spiderman, and Dr. Doom though. I might drop DD for either Kitty or Nightcrawler since he's kind of unnecessary at this point with how easy it is to dictate where the opponent will play T5, and I kinda liked how Kitty was working, and Nightcrawler would give an extra way to sneak into locked locations besides just Doom

19:35 you can play cards to get the raft bonus before silk moves.... maybe you didnt think a 0 6 cost was good enough? I think it's like an auto win a lot of the time because you can play two sixes on turn 6

Jean's text says "if possible" to prevent lockouts like this. If it's not possible to play to her spot because of these other restrictions, her effect is nullified.

Guardians need another card to help them boost power or something, something theme related. Like kraglin “if two or more guardian cards had their reveal effect activated, then activate again them again” or something like that

Jean counters destroy decks completely. You have to keep playing in the same place over and over and you will always have space since stuff will get destroyed.

Doesn't she counter all decks except cheap ones like bounce etc? Imagine Jean grey with storm or Jean grey with goose. Pretty dumb idea as if there's not enough unplayable locations already!

Echo doesn't work retroactively. The Echo needs to flip before the Jean Grey does. So Echo is more of an "insurance policy" against future Ongoing cards in that one location; it does not silence Ongoing cards that are already on the board. Please read the card text before making comments like this.

You almost certainly do encounter bots on the ladder at some points, they just aren't always necessarily very obviously bots.

It greatly depends on your placement (the higher you climb the less of them you'll see typically) and what time you play also has an effect (you'll encounter more of them playing at off-hours due to less people queuing). There's been a big influx of bot matches since the implementation of conquest.

Not sure why you were playing Kitty Pryde into Nexus once he dropped Cyclops. You could have placed it in a different lane and not taken the hit.

You'll take the hits one way or another. If the debuffs hit Kitty, then you have the power to choose which lane the debuffs land in at the end of the game.

Well, I'm happy to explain it. Why would I want the two debuff hits to hit the two cards I have stuck in Nexus? I can absorb debuffs into a card that doesn't end up on Nexus, functionally shifting those debuffs out of Nexus.

A really good add to the deck is Spider-man. Sometimes they really commit in the Jean lane that you can swing things up on turn 6 after Spider hits. Something like Turn 3 Jean, Turn 4 Kitty+Groot, Turn 5 Spiderman on Jean, Turn 6 Kitty+Nightcrawler/Jeff(move) on Jean lane and Gamora to win the other lane.

@@Seananigans.1 Even if they hadn't filled it they'd be able to play somewhere else due to the if possible clause on Jean's effect, I haven't heard of any bugs related to her interaction with his or Prof X's effect which is surprising considering damn near everything else about her is bugged. I've gotten some good laughs reading some of the "theorycrafting" people have been doing with her since it exposes just how poor their comprehension skills are.

The whole point of the Spiderman on Jean is forcing the opponent to play 2/3 cards on that location because of Jean and swing things up on turn 6 with Gamora on the other lane + winning the Jean lane with Kitty + Jeff or Nightcrawler. Bounce Angela, High Evo, Destroy, Silver Surfer, Sera decks, all archtypes that usually play for a big turn 6. When you play against Jean you dont usually fill her lane because you know its going to be a highly contested location, at the same time you are forced to play at least 1 card there on turn 4 and 5. If the opponent filled the location by turn 5 just dont play Spider.

Stay with me here, could tribunal work? You're going to build a tonne of power with the guardians here, and your opponent won't be able to spread out, so tribunal could really spread big numbers to places they just couldn't reach

Well, Jean NEEDS to get patched right now because she released with basically every interaction that should disable her not working in any way at all and completely bugged. Enchantress doesn't work on her, she works through Lemuria/DarkDimension/InvisibleWoman before revealing, she still works as a pig/symbiote, if she is played into Morag nobody gets to play a card for the remainder of the game...the list goes on.. she's basically broken at this point, and not in the power sense... she's literally just broken, none of the interactions you'd expect to work a certain way do so.
