In this one I examine all the detail on bike steering - how to move your body weight, how to initiate the turn with counter steering, anchoring on the footpads, where to look & how to keep the bike balanced through use of the throttle.

I’m sure all Observers hearts sink when a new associate tells you they have watched loads of you tube vids. How quick your heart will recover if they tell you they watched this one. Another beauty. Cracking roads too

I haven't noticed anywhere among your bike videos tips for dealing with steep downhill bends. I don't feel I can accelerate, even gently, through them so I'm running with a closed throttle. I'd welcome something on this. Anyway, thanks for another great video - I've been riding longer than I care to remember but always find something new to think about.

What an absolutely FANTASTIC video Reg. I was even leaning round the bends with you while watching. You make it all make sense with you expert explanation. I have been riding for 37 years, have my IAM, my BMF Blue Ribband, plus other advanced training, but yet i still struggle with some bends. You summed it up perfectly by saying to have confidence in the bikes grip, rather than panic by rolling off or dabbing the rear brake, which we are all guilty of doing at some time. I think i need a trip to Cumbria so that i can have a day out with you. Keep up the great videos .

Reg, you correctly say in the video to push the bar away for counter steering. A common mistake for riders of different styled machines with regard to counter steering is to push (and say) down The whole idea is to move the bars around the headstock of the bike. With sports bikes, this makes having your forearms low enough so you push forward and not down. For those on big adventure bikes with huge wide bars, be aware that it takes not a lot of pressure and you can easily over do it when you start trying to counter steer actively. Anchoring to the bike is important but a good stiff body core/torso is important too. Personally I'd put that above pushing on the pegs (which feels nice).

Reg - Excellent video - one of the aspects that was a ‘penny dropping’ moment for me watching this was your changes in speed and gear. Although only saw a glimpse of this depending on camera angle - it would be really useful seeing a video with this being the main focus. I like many, don’t realise that your not just keeping to the speed limit, rather than changing down (or up) as much as you do. Thank you again - brilliant content.

Had a moment where I was on the twisty roads on cg125, coming up to a right corner too fast, hadnt realised it tightened and was already on the limit. Panicked and tried to brake gently but bike just 'wouldnt turn'. Front wheel caught curb 20 mph ish, and I was off and luckily slowly bashed my head along the barrier and didnt get crushed by the bike. Bike was okay as was I. I knew I was being a tool but it really surprised me and Ive tried to analyse why. The way you explain everything is a real penny drop moment. I knew then I really didnt know what I was doing but feel its absolutely necessary to learn to avoid ever doing it again. Thanks, excellent instructor! Subbed😊😎👍

I've just started watching your series of videos, fantastic information, much of it I already know and use but refreshment is so important. Some great tips and new to me stuff that I'll be trying out ASAP. I notice you straighten some bends and roundabouts, when safe to do so, I'll start to incorporate that into my riding as it improves stability and maintains speed. Excellent, thanks for producing these videos to help bikers improve and stay safe.

Thanks Reg, very informative video. Only passed my CBT a couple of months ago and have had a couple of sketchy fast corners where I have drifted towards oncoming traffic. I now realise its because I was panicking and rolling off the gas, rather than committing (and entering too fast for my skills).

excellent content, superbly presented, and I see you were enjoying our glorious English Summer whilst doing it. I am currently doing my Masters (IAM), and this really should be mandatory viewing, I have watched so many cornering Video's, so eventually get all the Techniques, but this is the ONLY example, where I believe the critical elements of successful cornering are covered in a single Video, it really nails it !!!

Great content and great instruction as always. Would it be possible for you to incorporate a video at some point with techniques for riding tight hair pins, up and downhill and awkward hillstarts, even uturns on hills. Also slow controlled riding and filtering etc. TIA.

Best video I've seen on cornering, understand and use all these techniques except for weighting the opposite peg. Definitely be adding that little nugget to the bag. Thanks Reg, keep up the good work good.👊

Hi Reg, Have you any advice re cattle grids. i.e pick the bike up more upright if possible. Sometimes you get quite a jolt going over them. Nice to hear the bm getting some revs.

Keep the bike as upright & straight as possible & avoid any inputs (brake or throttlr), especially when wet.

The condition of the roads these days you need an adventure bike to deal with them. Scant repairs to the road surface, dangerous potholes, six variations of unnecessary humps. There is a war against the motorist.
