One of my favorite books is: The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCulloug. 😘

First book I ever read was 'A Quest for Orion' by Rosemary Harris, I was ten and when I remember some! of the plot / characters I get flashes of what it felt like at the time emmersed in the story :)

My favourite book is Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier. My favourite scene is where Joss Merlyn, the wicked landlord tells her he is haunted by the ghosts of those he's killed. Such a deeply atmospheric scene.

Hello my friend, I understand your pain. I used to have depression in my younger years as well, and it was truly an extreme burden on my soul. You see so much pain in this life. People around you don’t seem to care about you, there’s disaster everywhere, and you lack motivation to get up and do daily tasks. I want to tell you the most important thing you will ever hear in your life, and if you can grasp this…..it will change everything. Are you ready? Would you say that you are a good person? Take the time to think, then answer out loud. If you faced God on judgement day, would you be innocent or guilty? Again, think. If innocent, then let’s compare you to the standard of morality, The 10 Commandments. Have you every told a lie? Probably thousands in your life time; me too. Have you every looked at a woman or man with lust? Jesus said that if you even look at a woman to lust for her, you’ve already committed adultery with her in your heart. Have you ever stolen something, even if it’s small? Again, Answer out loud. I’m not going through the effort to type this for nothing, I care about you. Have you ever killed anyone? No? Well, Jesus who is God said, “if you hate someone without a cause, you’ve already murdered them in your heart.” God’s word tells us that No liar, thief, murderer or adulterer will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, but will have their part in the Lake of Fire which burns forever. We have only looked at 4 out of 10 Commands. Now, when God judges you on judgement day, will you go to Heaven or Hell? God will justly condemn you to Hell for your crimes, and this fate is far worse than anything you will face on this earth. There is no way out, ever. Does this scare you? This didn’t scare me, because I thought that I’ll just tell God that I’m sorry and He will forgive me. If a good judge on Earth can’t just forgive a murderer and let him go free, then Holy God cannot do that either. Justice demands payment for your crimes. How can you escape this coming fate? Someone would have to take your place in court for you to go free. Here’s where the good news comes in, but it’s only good if you act on it. 2,000 years ago God came down to earth, a fully sinless man, and he took God’s wrath for you. Do you know what He said when he died on the cross? He said 3 words, “It is finished.” In other words, the debt has been paid! If you will see your sins as truly heinous as they are, that God himself had to be tortured for you, and turn from your sins to follow Christ Jesus, you will be saved. This depression you feel will be turned to joy, and you will not fear death. Because death will only bring you to the one whom you love. Read His love letter to you, the Bible daily and talk with Him. He promises to make you a new man with a new heart and new desires. He has done this to me, and I am Fully healed! I will pray for you tonight my friend that you will pass from death to life and will be my brother 🩵 I beg you with urgency to seriously consider this message.

The picture caused instant flashback to My home town and the coffee shop we'd frequent...bookstore/music shoppe was two stores down. ...ahh what I'd give to, just slide back for a moment, to soak it in again, on a chrisp rainy Autumn evening. The sound of the bell walking in along with the creak of the door, the smell of books and incense , the warm and quiet....Yes please.

These are beautiful lines, thank you. I am copying them into my journal. I, too, love the rain, though we have always had moderate amounts. I tend to run outside and garden in it and wash the car in it, a double cleansing for it and me.

And it gets better..... the life He gives is eternal life. Seek the Lord while He may be found. If you draw near to God, He will draw near to you.
