+tammystiletto the suits aren't meant for comfort. I'm sure the sizes were probably too small; I wear suits that are 2 sizes smaller than what I'm supposed to wear. If they couldn't fit in them then they should have got a slight bigger size rather than ruin $300+ suits

If you can't get it all the way on, then it's NOT THE RIGHT SIZE. If it rips when you get it on, then it's NOT THE RIGHT SIZE. If you have to cut it off when you're done, then it's NOT THE RIGHT SIZE.

I think it wouldn't have ripped if they use gloves as I think it was their nails that ripped it, powder would also have helped. There is also a "plastic cloth" (don't know what it is called mizuno sells them" that would help put on the suit pass the thighs and butt which is the hardest part

I love this so much. I’m a swimmer and the rule is usually to buy a suit 2 sizes down from what you are. Literally at my last swim meet my best friend and I were in a changing stall together and I had to help her put on her suit, and she’s pretty skinny too. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!!! But they just cut those suits! Those are expensive suits!

I am a size 32 women's suit and I can fit myself into a size 23 racing suit. You definitely need another person to help you take it on and off. It blows my mind that they were cutting these beautiful suits. A suit like this can cost upwards of $600 dollars.

+Paintball Noob Then you aren't dedicated enough or don't understand sizing. I'll have you know that I am in high school and 24 is my race suit size. And there are juniors and seniors who wear 24s. Keep in mind its a race suit, not a practice suit. For practice suits, I go for 26s.

In the Olympics the swimmers do get cut out of their suits. That being said usually you shouldn't, but they were already ripped so it didn't matter that much.

it was the actual size they probably got frustrated with it and because they don't swim and aren't trained they put the suits on wrong, but they usually take about half an hour to put on anyway

You guys know they do come in different sizes, right? Yes, they are tight, but if you can't get it on you have a size that is TOO SMALL. Get a bigger one. This should be relabeled "regular people try on competitive swim suits that are two sizes too small"

Actually they should have gotten a size smaller lol. It should take them 30 minutes to put it on (for the girls) and they should need help from at least 2 other girls so they actually fit.

+Joseph Chang some of them might have been "too tight" which isn't really a thing in the world of competitive swim. I've worn suits that are at least 6 sizes smaller than me and I'm fine. The people in this video just weren't prepared to put on racing suits. You get used to it after a while. All this video was, was a bunch of complaining. Idk if they volunteered to be in this video but maybe they should've researched beforehand.

Im not defending them but from buzzfeed's PRO fat movement, i believe the company got smaller sizes to emphasize the "oh it doesn't matter, we are beautiful anyway". They do make larger swimsuits.

+Daniela Cat lol you would never wear a fast skin to practice they are crazy expensive and you don't want to stretch it out. You always go at least half an hour before your race with teammates to help you put it on bc it's crazy difficult to put on especially over your shoulders

in swimming...nothing you wear is actually your size... like my measurements told me that I should be wearing a size 32 swim suit...but i wore a 30 or 28 for my regular suit...(it stretches out as you wear it) and a 26 for racing suits. yeah it was a struggle...but you WANT the suit to be tight compress. and you just get used to not being able to breath.

They are worth $250-$500 and the knee skin ones can go higher into the thousands. It's a pain to put them on but you should have someone to help you with the suit and even with help it can take up to 30mins to put one on.
