Followed Tull forever, but this is Ian playing in his own tribute band. I won't be there. Too much sadness over the magic that has been lost.

I thought it sounded like A Passion Play, so I listened to the whole album to check and it was. Than I listened to it again because it is awesome.

Funny how a PP seems to be a line Tull fans back then either crossed or not. I loved it, but I'm told I can be too dark at times. I think a PP is all about the struggle to keep it light, albeit dubious serotonin levels. Hey Santa, pass us another Fosters will ya?

Is it really any surprise coming from Ian Anderson, a cheapskate for The Ages?

Why don't you came in Italy for 50th Tour? We love you! We are waiting you: please add Italy in the concert list. We miss you, we are crying out!
@gianlucagemelli29096 жыл бұрын
@gamellieur99386 жыл бұрын
@gamellieur99386 жыл бұрын
@gianlucagemelli29096 жыл бұрын
@gianlucagemelli29096 жыл бұрын

C'mon man. How can you have a 50th anniversary without the main players? Above all else, where's Martin? Ian, we love you sir, but where's our favorite Brummie? Hell, I'll even forgive the lack of vocal range after Under Wraps... Where's Mr Barre? :(
@qdaveq65976 жыл бұрын
Martin's busy doing his own thing, touring heavily and beginning to work on his seventh solo album. He has little interest in returning to Tull. See his website for details.

“I always hate to hear, ‘Oh, you’ve left Jethro Tull.’ I haven’t - Ian wanted to finish Jethro Tull, wanted to stop the band completely. It was a big personal shock to finish. Essentially the floor was pulled from underneath me, and I had a month to start from the beginning again.” “Now there is not a Jethro Tull. Maybe there will be in five or 10 years, but probably not. It’s sad, because I see bands like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles and Toto out there having very successful tours. They’re very special bands, and they’re enjoying a resurgence of interest from that era. But unfortunately we’re not part of that.” I can see on his website that he's busy Dave. I can't find anything about not wanting more Tull?
@qdaveq65976 жыл бұрын
I'm aware of this and similar quotes, but he's also spoken about how happy he is with what he's doing now and is pleased that he's got the opportunity. Ian and Martin together again is not impossible, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Martin's 50th anniversary tour sounds more exciting than Ian's, since it will feature real guests, rather than "virtual" ones!
@Agmash29a6 жыл бұрын
Cheers Dave. Oh, the 50th anniversary tour sounds cool! If only MB was coming to Sydney Australia. I'm a huge MB fan.
@arkanoiddude4 жыл бұрын
@@qdaveq6597 Yeah glad Martin's happy but it doesn't make Ian's treatment of Martin and Doane any better. If you listen to Ian tell it, he and Martin were growing apart and the split was mutual...but the way Martin tells it, he had every intention of continuing on as Tull's guitarist but was blindsided by Ian's decision to end Tull and go solo...then a few years later Ian is calling his backup band Jethro Tull...seems kinda crummy of Ian.

I don't agree with those who claims that no Barre means no Tull. Mr Anderson can and must play with whoever he feels comfortable with. Besides, Mr Ophale is really good. At the same time, I agree with the ones that ask for a new singer for the band. Mr. Anderson can compose the music, play the flute, the guitar and everything he can come up with, but it was really hard for me to listen to the last orchestral Anderson CD. He just can't do it anymore. Please think it over.

As a big JT fan who saw his last two tours, and loves the music has composed....hire a vocalist. It's not working and could ruin the reputation he has made and deserves. Hearing him struggle, and huff the words out ,is so stuck in me ears, it interferes when I listen to his old recorded music. Sorry to post this. Composers don't have to personally perform their work for it to be "real."
@Agmash29a6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, as a long term fan also, I agree.

Whatever... you're right but folks have been complaining about the voice since the eighties.

The voice is non existent now, the 80's was far stronger than thesedays, Ians making a fool of himself
