I thought of a little story for this song, mainly because I’ve listened to it so much 😑. Basically the queen bee of your school is basically ordering people about, being a “dictator” when really she’s not happy at home, the way she treats others is the way she’s being treated. But she can’t leave because she still loves her family. Yet she wants to leave but every time is held back, now she’s starting to give in to her unhappiness and mould herself into a different person

@@danielxcx5562 Saaame here. Since True Romance! I even met Charli here in FL. I was one of the only people that stayed behind after the show to wait up for her. She was nice as ever. Now we r both fans of Rei Ami. I honestly jusy discovered her yesterday. Loving her music! I also like Tove Lo, Lana, Melanie Martinez, Meg Myers all the underrated underappreciated pop phenomenons.

The way her songs are constructed is so interesting. Just like with "snowcone," two genres spliced into one song.. although tbh I wasn't really expecting her to do it again, but it works. I don't normally stand behind artists simply bc they represent my culture, but if they do it well, and Rei Ami does, I will always be grateful of their contributions to society. That said, the production value of this video compared to her others is 1000x better, so I'm glad to see that she is, in fact, prospering. You go, grrrl, and represent! (or don't.. no pressure :)

Rei Ami is a reference to two Sailor Moon characters: Sailor Mars (Rei) and Sailor Mercury (Ami). The song illustrates this duality in the shift midway. This is genius.

I love this song so much. I constantly go through little phases or whatever. At one point i will get really energized, emotional, impulsive, critical and aggressive. In these moments i will heavily insult people, freak out over small things and act a more extroverted. This causes me to feel really bad. Like im a bad and mean person. I begin to isolate myself and i try to talk less to avoid hurting the people around me more. In _these_ points i will get really sad. I will feel empty and cry alot, i will talk less and be really self deprecating. I insult people to feel better about myself. Im always sad and insulting people is a way to bring them down to my level. I want people to be afraid of me. I want them to feel the way i feel when im at my low points. And i couldnt care less about peoples emotions. I feel indestructible. After that i realize what ive done. After the energy i finally cool down and feel so much guilt. And i just shutdown i guess. To sum it up i go through constant phases of "im better than everyone else. Fuck these people." And "everyone is better than me. Im just a failure." And thats what i feel this song is trying to convey. Both parts of the song sound like stuff i would _never_ listen to. But together they make an amazing song with an interesting story line that can have multiple interpretations. I love it
