There's actually a psychological reason he gave up the names so easily, it's the same reason why he, like many child molesters, gives gifts, and why they often take trophies, in this particular case the gifts and trophies happened to be one in the same, the reason is in the back of this guys mind he did nothing wrong, in his mind he gave his victims something in return, it was an exchange that benefited him, so why should he hide it, especially upon initial confrontation. It's only after he's revealed his cards that the "oops I shouldn't have said that" part of his brain catches up. It isn't just child molesters, rapists, and other criminals that do what they do in part as a way of feeling like they have a sense of power over someone else, often times they initially have a hard time keeping what they did quiet in the opening moments of confrontation, it takes a few moments for the conscious "this is wrong according to societal norms, I need to shut up" bit catches up. Often times, these kinds of criminals only get caught, because for a brief moment the cocky, almost proud, front takes the lead before the caution can take hold.

Who knew Riker could be so creepy? Reid gave a masterclass in how to expose perverts like this here! Spencer went full scorched earth savage here.... If daddy just gave his daughter those dolls, people would have lived. Charge him with accessory to murder too. The best option for Samantha would be the rest of her life in an psychiatric facility because of the circumstances. I loved the ending where he was gentle with her and talked her down from killing one of the girls held hostage. Plus, Samantha was reunited with her dolls.... the one thing she had left of her innocence.

I really wish they had given Reid more scenes depicting a slightly more menacing, dark side of the lovable dorky doctor. I mean while he's not a heavily built man, Gubler (who plays him) is 6'1 so he does have the potential to be more physically intimidating than people would think (towering over someone who's shorter, regardless of muscle mass, can quite often be rather frightening imagery). Plus there are many other cerebral characters who have displayed darkness that just adds to their character. For example, Hugh Dancy pulls this off remarkably well in his portrayal of Will Graham; just that hint of something terribly frightening beneath his genial demeanor is enough (and Dancy is a far smaller man).

And when Reid finally revealed what he was up to, it’s in a way the brings you more and more to the edge of your seat so that you’re barely in it then he just drops the truth bomb and you’re floored, trying to figure how his sweet little ND butt connected so many seemingly in related puzzle pieces in such a short amount of time, all while he’s vaguely explaining just that!

Started watching Star Trek next gen and riker quickly became a favorite now skip to 5 minutes ago and this scene appears on my recommended so I watch it of course cause it’s from my favorite episode and who doesn’t love to see Reid all badass but instead of enjoying it you find out the unsub is your space husband and now you don’t know what to think. It is very confusing.
