Good review. I have the the F6 and the F4 as well. Got them both about 6 or 7 months ago. Regret missing the Scandi F4. I haven’t found a niche for them. Neither one has spine sharp enough to fire fero rod without a struggle. I actually have them laid out to grind 90s on spine this weekend. My beef, they’re heavy. Pull your pants off heavy. The handles on both are fantastic. I wish so much that the reverse taper was more broadly used by manufacturers. I use a metal O-ring under that clip and an attach a nylon loop and carry them as a dangler. Works great, way better than clip on the belt. Anyways they’re over built, I think the heat treat is really good. They’ve held up to ton of batoning and carving, no chips or deformations. I’m gonna keep using them I just have so many knives that I don’t give them enough time to get the fizz. I’m with you if you have an Esse or a Tops or a Cold Steel and want something that can do it better it will do it. But you can get 4 Falkniven SRK 3V knives for price of one Reif. If they’d of made that handle in Micarta the weight issue wouldn’t be a thing. That’s my take. You do a good job reviewing knives and gear. Thanks for taking the time

Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences! For me their weight is a plus and a minus. I don't have pull my pants down issues because I wear a thick belt tight- so I can have a full size fighting pistol, mags, and a 2 pound knife and it doesn't bug me much- But if people don't do that it can be an issue of course. However I think the weight and balance is part of what makes them so comfortable to use. G10 is pretty heavy so a tapered tang would save SOME weight but not a whole lot due to the extra g10. A skeletonized tang would drop more weight, but I can't help but feel like balance wise that would make them less comfortable to use. They are no questions asked little tanks for their size though!

All valid points my man. I’m gonna wear a belt out grinding those two 3V spines tomorrow. Thanks for taking time to respond. Merry Christmas to you and yours

I have so many fixed blades and am buying the new Reiff F5 Sabre Grind. One issue is with so many knives, I have tons of matching sheaths. My problem is hunting down the proper sheath that came with the knife. Well, Hands Down, White River Knives Bushcraft Sheaths have such generous proportions thst many knives will fit and fit WELL! So my go tosheaths are the WRK Bushcraft Sheaths!

Great honest review Jacob!!! It’s nice for someone to be able to explain the justification behind the price and I completely agree it’s worth the money 💪🏻🙏🏻

I absolutely love my Reiff Knives F6 and now I want to get it out some more. I only wish I could get micarta scales for it instead of the G10. I thought of sending it to PBK or trying myself to sculpt the G10 I’m also glad I had this knife for my top 10 survival knives showdown

Very nicely done, Jacob. Your thoughts were great and well explained and presented. I think that Kydex sheath is fine. If I were to get a different sheath for that knife, it'd be leather. 🙂

Looking forward to your long term review of the F6 man! I want to believe that for the money, this is better than buying Italian…

I haven't used a lot of lionsteel myself but people who I trust have. I would GUESS not having used Lionsteel myself that Reiff is an equal value, offering a different flavor, as what I see and hear from the Italians overall is quite good. Although on bladeforums I did hear about rampant ht issues... but nothing I have ever heard substantiated that.

I love the F4 (Scandi & saber), F5 and F6. I wish the F6 had a taller grind like the new F5 has but I still think the F6 is great regardless. It's not the tool. It's the nut behind the butt.

Looks good. YeH i agree, the ferro rod needs to come down 2 screwholes. IMO.

I like a sharp spine not just for spark before I ever used my spine for sparks. I used it to get fuzz and smooth out carving projects and for like traps just ocd things. What's pretty when your alone lol.

I think the factory spine is sharp enough for that. But yeah I generally prefer them really sharp!

They are very, VERY different in absolutely every way- it would be more obvious of you saw them side by side.
