I adore the reddish baby hair on the foals' manes, forelocks and ears, and wish it would stay! They look like a bunch of beauty college students have been experimenting on them with hair-dye, but it's so darned cute!😍🤩😅

We live in a Dutch community in Washington State and my husband is Dutch. His parents left Holland after WWII. So we know all about Sinterclause he comes to our community Town of Lynden in early December.

I'm so glad Reintje isn't going anywhere! She's my second favorite mare, Uniek being my number 1 fave =) And of course, my favorite filly/yearling is Lianne!

My heart was beating so fast when I thought Reintje had been sold. Absolutely love her and Lieke! We know it's a business but we get very attached to these beautiful Friesians. 💕🐴🐎

I do so hope Reintje is never sold out of Friesland..... MAYBE....another Go Fund Me. In future, to save this very beautiful mare??? Thinking it would be amazing if Yvonne could also have Reintje, later on...am I greedy..or just dreaming ..?? Well, it costs little to dream of a perfect solution....MUCH to create it!

What a difference in Jildou; you’ve been working very hard with her to gain her confidence and trust 🥰. When she was in the halter at the beginning, she was trying to pull away but there she was at the end, wanting a cuddle, just like all the others 😍. It just shows how much passion you all put into working with these magnificent horses.

My last name is Nijsen in Dutch. When my husbands family immigrated to Canada they changed the spelling to Nyssen cause it was easier for some folks. Not all. People still pronounce it like that car company, Nissan . Still annoys me. But I just quickly correct them. Your horses are wonderful, as are you. I must add I would be put into Dutch pronunciation jail at how I fail to pronounce the horses names, especially their FULL names. Wow. Magnificent animals. Just magnificent. What else could I possibly say.

Excuse me but I have a question. I have been around, birth and raising horses In California USA. never have I seen horses stabled together like this. Please don’t take me wrong I love 💕 it a lot. Wish I had done this. I always thought that it was funny to keep a herd animal in a stalls by their self. Sometimes they can see the horse next to them but that is not like a herd. I always thought that it was for safety ? Can you give some information/insight on this herd type of stabling together. I love 💕 it! I I could get back in to horses again I would try it. But I am 78. Not easy now but you keep me going on just to see them so happy! I miss them so so very much. Please keep up your good work

Oh no. Two of my favourites going... Glad to see in the end your beautiful riding horse Reintje stayed. She's my favourite really and has a special bond with you. Love seeing you do dressage on her. So willing to learn and sweet nature. Those babies splashing in the water was cute.

As children, we would put our shoes out the evening of December 5th, so Sinterclauss could fill them with candy. I'm a 8th generation American (My maiden name was VanAlstyne) but it's a custom that has been handed down to my children and their children.

I am married to a Dutchman, from the south (Limburg), and even though we live in America, we still let the kids put out their klompen in front of their rooms, on St. Nicholas eve. My Mother in Law would make sure they each had a chocolate letter and small toys. Now my kids are grown, but they still come home and celebrate St Nicholas.

The universal child - suddenly leaping into the air for no reason, and splashing as hard as possible in mud puddles. :D Oh, both horses did so well around the excited children. Those ears were sure swiveling all around. St. Nicholas looked extra nice with the red against the black.

This is a wonderful video. The buggy, both Friesians matching stride for stride. Ginny standing proud, lovely stance in the mud. Playing in the mud. Munching in the stables. Uniek watching Yvonne all the time. Uniek's cute and tickley moustache. Lol. I love your place and ALL the Friesians and Johnny too. 💜💚💟💛❤

Ohhh, I was heartbroken to think of Reintje sold... she is such a treasure on this farm and the two of you so special together. What lovely Christmas customs you have, such a thrill for the children! Our son in Alaska would have Santa arrive in a reindeer- pulled sleigh for the children. Here in Florida we have Santa's sleigh pulled by … well, no snow so he flies.

Wow! Uniek and Reintje were so brave and well-behaved with Sinterklaas and the children! They definitely earned a good treat after that, I'm sure! I would love to have a horse someday that is so calm yet moves so beautifully like them :)

It must be hard to let the horses go but like you said you can't keep them all. I am sure you know they will go to good homes or you would'nt let them go. Looking forward to new foals of 2020.

I can't imagine raising, training and caring for an animal, especially beautiful horses like these, and then having to say goodbye one day! I know that is the business, but for me, I am too emotionally attached. I could not do it, I don't think.

Just love the Friesian breed, such a great horse all around! I'd love to own a couple but I'm getting old and they are a lot of work and as Dr. Pol always says, "Horses are always looking for a way to injure themselves!" LOL!! Guess I'll have to stick with my dog and cat. :)

@@LindaEll89 They weigh tons and they must balance on those thin legs and small hooves. I remember a biology teacher explaining how the leg and hoof of the horse is like a finger and nail to a human. If that is true, imagine balancing your whole body on four fingers with nails and remaining so beautiful and graceful at the same time. I think it's a miracle of God and nature that they can do it at all. The added bonus is how majestic, and beautiful they look at the same time. I think part of the marvel of these beautiful animals is how all that works and they can trot and canter and gallop. It's amazing. The motion picture industry got is start because people wanted to know if a horse is suspended completely in the air at one point during the gallop. In other words, are all those tons of muscle and bone completely off the ground and in the air? So, they drew the horse in each stage of the gallop and spinned it around and found out that indeed it is true. Now, we can see it all the time when horses are taped galloping. How can all that be suspended in the air? Horses are a miracle of nature and that's part of our fascination with them.

In German we also have two guys: Nikolaus on Dec 6th and Weihnachtsmann ("Christmas man") on Dec 24th. Santa is for us the guy from the Coke ads :-)

So happy that Reintje is stiil in Goengamieden! I hope she will stay there as long as possible. (But Yvonne can't buy them all in order to prevent them from being sold.)

The young horses clearly had a ball. But wasn't it too slippery for them to be in the mud? Uniek and Reintje looked majestic and were fabulous with the crowd.
