I’d still take the mythic. Even if it has only three bullets at least it reloads faster

The thing is, while spamming the gold and epic is better and easier, the mythic has incredibly fast reload time and a heashot in pubs late game can sometimes one shot people who have taken storm damage. Though, usually, just give a mythic to one person and the legendary/epic to the other.

Drum mag is a no-brainer advantage over the mythic unless you absolutely never miss.

Losing those 2 shots really does affect how you play, in close quarters if you don’t perfectly land all 3 of your shots your opponents still gonna have health, and more ammo than you before you can even reload for more shots

Fortnite should definitely let us mod the mythics, if they want to they could increase the price to mod it

I feel like this is a situation where people prefer to actually modify their weapons with modifications that works for them instead of relying on whatever you're stuck with when using the mythics. Its actually one of the main reasons why i never picked up any mythics the previous season.

Most pros, especially in fast pace w-key games, are sticking with the mythic. Peterbot used it to get 41 kills in the victory cup

The drum mag is good but you can get away with 3 shots and a reload, the bunkers are so late in the game that it might not be worth it unless getting in sweaty fights

You can see how good this game is when you completely miss every bullet you shot yet still deal full damage

the mythic deals the same exact dmg as the legendary so if u find the legendary best to switch

People who drop the mythic for a purple just for the 2 extra shots is wild. I use the mythic in all my games and the reload is so fast that a .5 second step behind cover or a dash to break line of sight for a quick sec allows for a relatively safe reload. I do this in no builds where there is less cover on demand and i still kill in only 3 shots 80% of the time

Tbh I prefer the speed mag over the drum mag cause the drum mag makes you reload much slower. Much more useful for 3rd parties where if you had the drum mag you may not be able to reload in time

This would be the same for me with the hammer pump last season. And also the gold and mythic variations do the same max headshot damage (190).

I used to take the gold and purple Gatekeepers over the Mythic for moddimg capabilities, but I don't really go to bunkers often anymore because there's too much camping, and if you hit all 3 shots with your Gatekeeper for at least 75 each, you're basically good, they're practically pickaxe-able at that point lol

The reason is the drum magazine the extra 2 shots can make your close range conflicts more forgiving

It’s genuinely the hardest decision I have to make in a game deciding between purple or mythic

I started doing this after I watched my replays over and over to see why I was losing shotgun fights. The damage is just enough so that 3 perfect shots is a guaranteed kill. However, miss some pellets or even 1 shot entirely and you lose the duel to another Gatekeeper. No amount of quick reload will save you. Even the famous advice of "Switch to another weapon it's faster than reloading" doesn't cut it assuming your opponent doesn't miss their 3. So the only course of action is a bigger mag. I pair this with the mod that gives better hip fire spread since you're hardly ever gonna ADS with a shotgun. Also the same reason I hate scoped shotguns. It turns it into a slug SG instead of a Pellet SG (more or less) and its annoying as hell.

I'm far from a pro but this what I do every game the extra ammo just feels much more safe lol

With the current avatar update today the air scroll is broken with the mythic as you can wheel up to the enemy and shotgun them in the face twice, the problem I have with the gatekeeper in general is how it reloads, it feels like a rifle more that an actual shotgun but that’s cuz I mainly use pumps

It’s unfortunate it has to be that way but it’s true. I think the Gold Gatekeeper with Drum Mag is the best shotgun the game has ever had.

A good strat for Chapter 5 Season 3(I saw this vid late) you can get nitro and keep the Cerberus shotgun, so the constant reload isn’t a problem as nitro makes reloading faster

Hot take: the mythic gatekeeper isnt that bad IF used with Ares aspect of combat medallion bc it pushes the dmg up to 102 so it makes getting elims easier.

Cause I’m my personal experience, mythical can’t be nodded with the drum mag increasing its ammo capacity significantly. It’s stuck at three shots then reload.

ive been doing that since that shotgun got to the game since you have more bullets and the reloading time gets slightly longer

Speed mag is better tbh, the faster reload for less than a second reload is better than the 2 second reload of the drum mag

Literally speed mag and drum mag are basically the same on this thing but you get 1 extra bullet on speed mag due to how fast it reloads
