To be fair, BBQ gloves are only really meant to be used to prevent heat from the fire rising up and to prevent skin contact against the metal of a grill. They weren't exactly designed to be torched with a blow torch XD

Patrick, one, you could probably put some sort of non flammable glue and then douse it in baking soda so that the baking soda with stick to your flammable gloves and then you would not have to change it out as often

I voted for Patrick because if you put a decent amount of baking soda on and let it set it will be a lot more fire proof whereas there is not point in duct taping on a second, better helmet because that means you could just wear the better helmet instead and it makes it less stable since the centre of gravity for the helmet is much higher
