I'm in Philippines right now and already experiencing the lack of stable infrastructure in Cebu. Electricity, internet / wifi, etc one just cannot count on all of that being stable. I personally prefer Thailand I will be moving there next year. Philippines is fun to visit a few weeks, but I don't think I could live there full time. I do think Filipinas are very beautiful plus so humble and friendly and kind hearted. Maybe I meet a Filipina for rest of life and she agrees to live with me in Thailand 🙂

regarding Philippines vs Thailand stay -my wife and i will be retiring to Thailand as soon as i can sell this damm condo. She is a thai native i will have a marriage visa to renew yearly. No big deal. if i was not married i would just get a retirement visa and keep about $24 k in a thai bank. you can go there repeatedly on a tourist visa im getting an initial 90 day visa from the embassy in nyc. not looking forward to my plane ride for 16 hours with a paranoid dog i guess he will be sedated. hes my wifes baby, about the size of your dogs.
