They might have been near but seeing 2-3 humans would have put them off coming closer. They are extremely timid of humans - which is why the wolf ran in the opposite direction rather than attacking.

I have a different procedure for releasing large predators. 1) crush up a 10 MG Valium. 2) mix well in a few ounces of ground beef. 3) feed to captured animal. 4) wait until the animal succumbs, then release it. 5) stand guard until the animal recovers and leaves.
@griffinfjeld56808 жыл бұрын
Guys, those kinds of traps just numb the animals leg, theres no pain, and more and more states are allowing wolf hunting and trapping, and that trap was more than likly set for coyotes insted of wolves

Just a good hint for the guy with the wolf: the jung lady should take a big stick the give the wolf a target to bite on. If the wolf calms down a little bit, it is much more easy and less harmfull to get the sling over the neck. Be aware of the circle on the ground and never step inside ;-)

If only all trappers did things like this than it would be a lot more respected. It's the idiots who take animals regardless if they have a tag or if it's out of season or not. As I can see there are a lot of those kinds of people in the comment section saying you should of killed it anyway. People like that are the ones who are ruining every aspect of hunting and trapping and making every person who does it look like shit.

Hi Trapper It could be a better trick if you allowed it to bite and smell your pole for a while , this strategy would reduce the wolf stress then easly you could put your loop around his neck .

I personally appreciate the release. They are part of the ecosystem like any other animal. Estimate for Wisconsin wolves population is approximately 600 and there are approximately 1.6 million deer. The wolf population was nearly wiped out in 2008 for Wisconsin.
@TheWisconsinTrapper5 жыл бұрын
Actually there are about double the wolf's then the DNR can count. They are becoming a problem again, hence why there is a bill to open it again, it does need to be controlled before there is no other wildlife left. Remember wolves kill for sport and to train their young. They also leave alot of uneaten animals for training purposes. To a point there needs to be a law to legally control the population. Even if it is 40 tags a year that would help. Thanks for watching I have another wolf release from last fall check it out.

I'm listening to the voice of reason here - we need a bigger catch pole
@donniegross26338 жыл бұрын
Releasing the wolf would be faster with two poles. Let the wolf bite the first loop and then slide the second pole loop down the first one and around his neck while he still has a bite on the loop. Then when he lets go of the first loop after biting it once, you have him. Then release him. Over in less than a minute.

@txhypnotist9 жыл бұрын
You sure were lucky in that release. Not sure why anyone would let it go and not dispatch it, they kill all the live stock where I live and ranchers give a big reward for them in many states.
@SakuraFoxFurry9 жыл бұрын
You are brainwashed. Only 1 percent are killed by Wolves. More feral DOGS kill livestock than Wolves do. Even BEARS kill more than Wolves.
@txhypnotist9 жыл бұрын
Not brain washed at all. You don't live in Texas where you can see first hand the red fox's, coyotes and wolves here, yes feral dogs have and do kill as well and they are dispatched when they kill. You must assume everything based on only your opinion and not the fact of a "Rancher".
@345kobi9 жыл бұрын
txhypnotist Why would you state "they kill all the live stock where I live" ? Better check the statistics on how many they really kill. The number is very small in all states with wolves.
@txhypnotist9 жыл бұрын
Being that I use to file to stat reports to the state of Texas I know they are not accurate. So I call BS. All the stats are report false based on the person in charge who orders those reports to reflect a certain number. You Could check with the Zoonosis reports, but they only list what is...."Sent to them".
@clintperkinson26816 жыл бұрын
txhypnotist He released it because that’s what you legally have to do in his state. I’m sure he would have loved to have been able to dispatch and sell that fur. There is either no season in Wi for wolves or there are a minuscule amount of tags available by lottery.

Try this trick next time. Get a pole and thread it thru your noose. Let him bite the end of the pole as you push the noose over his head. As soon as he grabs the end of the pole that you thrust at him, just loop the noose right over his head.
