Deborah Wright, are you disabled? I ask, because I have trouble imagining exactly how you might be "forced," as you say, to be alone otherwise, also, because I myself am disabled. If you are disabled, please do what I did: contact a good church ( PCA, ACNA, LCMS, OPC, possibly a "Reformed" or "Bible" church ), explain your situation, and ask to be visited. That's what I did, and I was blessed with an excellent church. I understand that there are areas of the country where the Body of Christ is tiny, but you should be able to find some fellowship. I cannot drive, must be given rides, and do not have that much in common with many of the other members of my church, chronologically, economically, or maritally. ( Most of the members are families or young married people, and I am single. ) But it's a fine and generous church, with two great pastors, excellent elders, and most important, other members of the Body of Christ. My disability has all but guaranteed that I will be alone for life, unmarried, no children, few friends, but Christ said He will never leave us, never forsake us, and I think we should take Him at his word. May God bless you with an answer to your aloneness.

That sounds like a poor excuse of an unbeliever or an unfinished thought of an almost-believer. There is no such thing as "being alone" once you believe in God. I, for example, live abroad among unfriendly foreigners, am unmarried, no kids, and have a single friend - only one person that I can talk to freely and openly. I did indeed have tears in my eyes on numerous occasions because of my shear loneliness. However, that was only before I found Jesus. After I found Him and after I truly believed in God, after I finally got to and read the Bible, after I started to understand this Word of God, it hit me like a truck - *I am not alone!* And I never was. I only ignored Him for all those years. And yes I do think it is just ignorance or lack of basic knowledge of the Bible at least, when one says "I am separated from people (or church) and so alone and therefore I cannot grow my faith and pray etc oh, poor me!" Come on, even on deserted island a believer is not alone and can grow, you don't need other people for that! You only need God. God can help you, not other people.

May God's Spirit comfort these lonely souls.

Puchiko Nyu Pardon me. I don't know you're situation but Knowing Jesus is with you means he's with you in all of his perfect love and wisdom. If he determines a time of pain for you (like everyone) it's undoubtedly for your final good and not meaningless. Also our experience of God later will be proportioned somehow to our suffering in faith now, 2 Cor. 4.17, a verse to give endurance even joy in suffering if you dare to believe it.

Puchiko Nyu I hope this would encourage you. In my case Holy Spirit's companionship helps because it enables me to act in obedience despite the circumstances.. Knowing that God knows sometimes becomes the only and sufficient comfort to keep going on in faith admist not yet resolved issues in life.

Wynn Morris ok. pain has a purpose and Is not meaningless. Knowing that doesn't help solve the critical situation one is or make it feel better. How can i get the certainty of future better times or certainty to endure the present one? where? even after praying I don't have any certainty of anything.🤷🏻‍♀️

Puchiko Nyu "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope." (Ps 130:5) Although it's not easy, this is what I choose to do with the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit. I hope you could experience God's comfort as you wait & put your hope in God's unfailing love.
