PLO LUMUMBA - Religion has been used to manipulate Africans into poverty . In one of his speeches, Professor PLO Lumumba, a renowned Kenyan lawyer, and political activist, spoke about how religion has been used to manipulate Africans into poverty. He stated that many African religious leaders have used religion as a tool to control and exploit the masses, which has led to widespread poverty and suffering on the continent. He argued that religion should not be used to justify oppression and inequality, but rather as a means of promoting peace, justice, and equality for all people.
Furthermore, Prof Lumumba argued that Africa's problems cannot be blamed solely on religion, but on a lack of good governance and corruption among African leaders. He called for a new era of leadership in Africa, one that is transparent, accountable, and committed to the well-being of the people. He urged Africans to reject leaders who use religion to justify their actions and instead support leaders who will work towards the betterment of the continent. His speech has been widely shared on social media, and has sparked a lot of discussions and debates on the role of religion in Africa.

@@emmagreat9285 the problem is Ihat you havnt understood what was said and history….the statement in the video was “ Christianity first came to Africa through colonialism “ which was in the 14th - 15 th century… but what I have stated and history prove that Egypt and Ethiopia, who are among the earliest Christian nations “ converted and accepted the Christian faith more than 1000 years before this. I do not deny that Europeans came later with a Eurocentric and racist attitudes towards Africans and imposed “ their “ form of Christianity to the native people of Africa . But the ONLY nation in Africa that has never been colonised and has maintained its language, religion , culture , history , ect is Ethiopia that formerly accepted Christianity in the 4th century Read Acts 8 in the bible

@@nicojames3031 The basic points in his comments underscore the western philosophy about Christianity and how the history of their actions contradicted their claims as the proponents of egalitarianism, justice and fairness. This is the area where his comments resonated with the audience that understood the agenda of institutionalized establishments that are being propagated by the western world. His comments question the morality ingrained in the western Christianity that supported slavery and the suppression of Africa and the black race in general.

@@emmagreat9285 well now you are making a distinction between “western “ Christianity and Christianity that existed from ancient times …. That was not expressed in his original comments when he said “ Christianity started with colonialism “ And that is what is pointed out ! In some parts of Africa the first contact natives had with “Christianity” was with Europeans…. But that does not give the full picture , and without the full picture you cannot teach a proper conclusion. Don’t throw out the baby with the bath water 💧

This is ignorance and total foolishness. Luck of understanding history. Christianity in Ethiopia dates back to the early medieval Kingdom of Aksum, when the King Ezana first adopted the faith in the 4th century AD. While the colonial powers started coming to Africa around 15-28th century upward . The bible says that the Ethiopian eunuch received the gospel less than one year after the resurrection of Jesus Christ .

It's about time someone talks about this subject because we, Christians have become pretentious across Africa. Those who call themselves Christians are the ones committing heinous atrocities in South Sudan and other parts of Africa.

If you read your bible fully, you will admit the bible god is evil. Then you won't be surprised of christians behaviour. For we were not made in god's image, but the bible god was made in man's. That's why he is jealous, murderous, racists, genocidal, has a big ego and is a narcissist.

Or the obvious fact that Christianity has misled the African people due to the inequities between white and black peoples. They gave us religion and then took every valuable resource the continent has to offer. How is Jesus a white Hebrew from Africa Lol.
