Here's my look on it: Atheists believe that nothing happens when you die, hence 'Everyone died. The end'. Some people may turn Christian when they're older because they're scared of death and want to believe in an afterlife for comfort, and believing that nothing happens after death doesn't give them the comfort they looked for.

Christianity and Judaism are different. Christianity use to be a single religion, then during the reformation they broke into different denominations. Catholics stayed the same, and Protestants practiced differently. Thats the really simple version.
