You must be joking?! He won a penalty and scored a goal. Played in two different positions and was MOTM in a final against an incredible and battle hardened AC Milan team. And the team he was playing in on this night was not good. Granted they had Xabi Alonso who became world class. They had two very good CB in Carragher and Hyypia with Finnan at RB who himself was underrated but none of those players would have gotten into the Milan team that they were playing against. Just goes to show how good the opposition was and as a result, how good Gerrard was.

He had to pass it back because there were no forward options and his long balls missed the target here and there but not all of them at all. Not every long ball against a team of this quality is going to work.

@@malikmogekwu9781 why is Gerrard overrated exactly?? He has 21G and 15A in 73 CL games. An impressive record for a player who has played CM, CAM, CDM and RM at different points during his CL career with a Liverpool team which has been very weak at times. The only strong Liverpool team I can remember him playing in was the 2008/2009 and 2006/2007 teams really. If you just do the eye test you can see he is skilled in EVERY area. He can shoot from any range, he can tackle, he can head (as you saw in this video). He can play short and long passes with great accuracy, he has great ball control, can play a variety of positions (even played right back here). What more do you want?
