I have a pair of rp4000 mk2's and they are fine for djing. Motors are powerful enough unless your hands are sandbags.

Love how you disregard the 2000 for DjIng. Yes, for scratching you need a higher torque, but for mixing dance music, you don't need half the torque that super OEMs like the 4000 have (hence why a lot of dance DJs who mix vinyl use technics).

End of the day it's not always about the gear if you know what your doing your gonna be consistent on pretty much anything buy w.e is in your budget and get practicing there is nothing wrong with the re loop 4000s well built quality turntables

@@SLIKWRXLD In my case, I bought two active speakers to easily connect to the player, as the RP-2000 comes with a built in preamp. My setup is very basic and minimalistic, but absolutely fine for me.

I have an Aiwa AMU-120BT amplifier with phono preamp but it says, and i quote, "PHONO (MM) INPUT - Built-in phono pre-amp function with RIAA equalizer compatible only with moving magnet cartridges (mm)". My question is: the Ortofon OM Black suit that issue? I have purchased a RP-4000 MK2 that is in transit now...

Question here, what do you consider dj’ing because it seems a lot of people think of scratching stuff like that and i can understand the need for a bigger motor. I want to get into vynil but as a techno dj those issues seem to be less of a problem right ? Because i mainly have to match bpm and let it play

Yes, you can absolutely DJ with them. The lower torque will just make the release and best matching a little bit more tricky (particular in quick mix situations or if your fader is open). Having said that, you can certainly beatmatch with either of these models just fine, you’ll just adapt to the timing differences that each turntable’s motor provides. Grab a pair and have fun!

Is there any difference between 2000 and 4000 apart from the 4000 having a stronger motor and a 16% switch for the pitch fader with reverse playback?

nothing, ones plastic outter and ones metal as far as i can tell. yet the both have the same electromagnetic Hanpin motor as technics have. i find the whole argument silly and contridictive as all reloops are a direct answer to technics or they say so. i think its a case of dont buy that but by the lastest model rubbish to boost sales lol

I imagine you’ll need a phono preamp in order to connect the turntable how you’re describing.

Sooo rp 2000 mk2 is not good enough for djing? Few people from my country sell used ones at a reasonable price and I was thinking about getting them

You can totally DJ with it, but it isn't a deck that I really recommend for DJing for all the reasons I mention in the video.

why is there a shortage of the reloop 2000 mk2 deck as most dealers are out of stock ,and none new or even used on ebay ,have they discontinued this model already ??

seems when the 2000mk2 came out it has the same hanpin motor as 1210s.. the 4000mk2 also has the hanpin motor from technics 1210s and now the 7000 and 8000 Also uses the same hanpin motor as 1210s. so if all decks have the same motor as technics? why are people pushing for people to buy the 7000 or 8000 considerng they are the same inside? So your honest opinon then? surely if they are the same inside and use the same motor from hanpin? than they are no different and why is the 4000mk2 not for dj use? Also what is light DJing?? please inform me where im wrong as im kinda unsure what to buy? ive seen the 4000mk2 n action and no issues with mixing.. yet your saying No.. so much condridiction on theses decks its no wonder why people are so confused about anything that ant technics...............

The 1200/1210 does not use a Hanpin motor, the Hanpin motor is based off of the Technics which Hanpin developed when the Technics patent expired (to my knowledge). And the 2k and 4k models don’t use the same motor as the 7k and 8k. The 2k starting torque is less than one kg/cm. The 4k is 1.8 and while that’s technically a stronger torque than the original 1200, coupled with the lighter body, less feedback dampening, and generally lower build quality, it doesn’t have the same professional build and sound. So yes, you can technically mix and scratch on all of them, the 2k and 4k aren’t generally the turntables I suggest unless they are a good fit financially. Hope that helps!

Also, light DJing is just general mixing and playback. For instance, Redbull Threestyle is not light DJing :)

@@coolhandlex im not finding anything helpful, ive just watched a video from the Reloop guys themselves who said the RP-2000 and RP-4000mk2 are dj decks and are good enough, yet you say no... now you can understand why im very confused and at this rate im very close in not buying any reloops at all. i simply can not afford £450 - £500 a deck. if i could i would go straight out and buy technics due to all this, you can, you cant, no this, yes that. at least with technics iist a stright answer anyone can answer. but its like reloop dont even know there own decks

@@itsmybike1078 To be clear, you can absolutely mix and scratch on both of these decks and the 4k is especially better suited for that than the 2k. That said, the 4k is a great deck and applicable to a lot of situations, and it will last you a long time. These are well made decks. They are not premium or professional grade turntables however, and they aren't designed or marketed as such. I hope that clears up some of the confusion!

@@itsmybike1078 If these are all you can afford then go for it. If people like myself can learn on under 150 belt driven decks back in the day, then you'll be fine with either of these. I'd recommend the 4ks over the 2ks for obvious reasons.
