Trials of the Sword Middle Trials walkthrough

I thought that the Middle Trial was harder than the End Trial for the Trials of the Sword. This Middle Trial Walkthrough will show you how to get through all 16 floors quickly. Even better I will show you how to get through the trial without using shield parry.
Before starting the Middle Trial:
1. Eat a three up attack recipe for 50% bonus damage

4. Be sure to save before starting
Need help with only one floor? Skip ahead.

The first set of 4 floors all uses the updraft mechanic. use bombs and arrows to quickly and easily take down the red and blue bokoblins in your way.
The next set of floors are all in the dark which can be very difficult. If you have the option, try to play the game in a darker place (just not outside). That will allow you to be able to see a little better. Using stasis will also help a ton as well.
The last set of floors are all against mini guardians. Many of them can be taken out in a single hit using a strong bow. If there is water on the ground you can use cryonis to create a little shield. You just need to try to fight the guardians one on one as best as you can.

Relyea you should though that elemental enemies like that fire wizzrobe can be killed with a single arrow of the opposite element. Doesn’t work if they’re in stasis though

Two words. Thank. You. I ran away from doing the middle trials after struggling with the beginner trials but I thought let me just do it once I found all 120 shrines and 900 korok seeds. I watched your video a couple times through then when confident I had the gist of everything, I played your video alongside myself whilst I played. I completed it once through (obviously pausing and playing as I went along). Hopefully you have the final trial on hand, I’m going to head off and watch it if you do. I must be at roughly 1500 hours and have not found all the bloody korok seeds! Did you use a guide for those as well? I have tried doing the middle trials maybe 20 times now so when people do it first time, I cannot express how frustrated that makes me!!!

Also, in floor 7, the 10 ice arrows you got if you looted barells and wooden boxes, you can use them to one-time hit the lizalfos

That last Guardian almost had me with the constant lasers. 😅 I think (4 years ago), I only got to Level 7 and called it quits after so many attempts. Playing the game for the 2nd time and really wanted to conquer this. Thank you so much for the in depth, and very detailed, guide.

Quick tip for floor 7: Try to get close to the back/side (not entrance!) of the skull untill you see a bunch of question marks, then hurry on top of the skull while the enemies will get out of the skull and just throw bombs from there, normally if u stay at the top they will not notice you.

It's also worth it to note that stasis on the last two bosses and stasis + ice arrows makes a huge difference on the last boss.

I must say, having just got through this trial this evening, it came off a lot easier than the Starting trials! But then they're a lot more generous with the decent gear and pickups here. Your guide sure gave some useful pointers too! Although those dark rooms sucked! When I can't see what I'm fighting, all strategy goes out the window and I'm left swinging wildly at anything within reach!

DUDE. THANK YOU. I was doing this by myself until I saw that Hinox I was like hell no. I had confidence because I already did it with a Shrine but when you’re actually *there* doing the trial is so much different and the pressure.. insane. But I found this guide and even though I didn’t follow it since the beginning with that 3+ attack and all you had, you helped me SO MUCH. I don’t think I would have done it without you so thank you so much. It was an amazing experience!

For the fire wizrobe in the darkroom; using the ice arrows you've collected earlier will be super effective and be a quick and easy kill another thing, meteor staffs can help temporarily light the room and give you an idea of everything

I did so fricken well through the whole thing, got to the last guardian, kicked his butt... then he started firing that laser over and over and over and over and over and over again! I had him down to a sliver and he killed me! I cried... I literally cried. But thank you. Your guide was awesome!

quick tip for those who care, make sure to smash open every single wood box and barrels that you find, if you do this and get shock arrows and ice arrows, you can use those to shock/freeze the floor 16 boss guardian, it made the fight easier.

I had already pretty well completed the game 100% and decided to start it over when I got the expansion to experience the full effect of the game. The Sword trials are brutally hard and your tutorials have really helped. I keep getting killed by the final boss in the Middle Trials and have almost got it. I think the key to beat this boss is to save Speed items till the second rest point. By the time I reach the boss, my 30 min time on Full Attack power has expired. Cooking fairies with the Speed items helps and try to make lots of Health items. They will help and will not cancel out the Attack power or the Speed powers you add later. Save your Ice Arrows and Shock Arrows. They will really help.

Thought I would add this helpful hint: When you reload, the food drops will be different every time. On the first level, break the two boxes on the platform where 3 bokoblins are located. If you just get a couple wildberries and a Hylian shroom, reload the game and start over. Do this again until a bunch of good food items are dropped. That's an indication the rest of the food items dropped in the game will help you immensely.

Another option for the lizafos is to sprint full force to the top of the skull(you will take some damage but if you have full health it isnt enough to kill) and use ice arrows+ bombs or just bombs to whittle their numbers to two inside the skull then go to nose and throw one in so you can kill them without worries On floor 15 when one does the spinning laser that makes an updraft you can also use it to get ontop of a corner platform and shoot them or sort your thoughts and be safe from everything even their ranged attacks

Dont forget stasis comes in pretty clutch when avoiding a regular size guardian blast or the final blast of the boss in the trial. Do as much damage as u dare and than use stasis. Itll buy you a few more hit which may easily be the difference between life and death.

Parry help on normal difficulty: Hit parry when the Guaridan's laser turns white as its about to fire after gathering energy. You'll hit the perfect parry more often than not, and when you're fairly close its a 100% hit rate :)

A tip that I have: When you kill the electric Wizrobe, take his thunder rod it makes the final fight WAYYYY easier. Also good job dude this video is a perfect guide for people that aren't gods at the game, heck I beat it on my first try! Good Job dude, keep it up💪

Thanks so much! I basically 1 shot this with this guide. I'll add that the thunder rod from the hinox is amazing vs the dual MK3s before the final boss, and whatever remains can be used to stunlock the final boss. So can the meteor rod if you still have it. Oh and if you have ice arrows they can 1 shot the fir lizalfos and fire wizrobe in the dark
