This is not only my favorite song from Murmur (itself a masterpiece), not only one of my favorite R.E.M. songs but one of my favorite songs ever!!!

Greatest song they ever did. Sums it all up. If you followed them from beginning it’ll make sense

Seeing R.E.M. playing live is an AMAZING experience!!! I saw them two years ago for the accelerate tour in Mexico...you have no idea their energy while playing live.... it's obvious the years and years of experience they've got to be where they are now... love them as well as this amazing song

Saw this performed at the Rainbow in Denver summer '83. Stood near the stage -- Peter Buck to my right and Micheal Stipe to the left. Always thought this was the song that "Murmur" was about. Thanks so much for bringing the memory back.

Actually had the pleasure of meeting and hanging w/Bill Berry and Mike Mills a couple of times in the early 90s. At some point, I mentioned to BB that “Shaking Through” was my favorite song of theirs. He seemed genuinely(and pleasantly) surprised saying “Really?? I don’t hear that choice very often!”. I still think it’s an underrated sleeper.

Very nice,,,, One of my favorites from the band. Love Pete's guitar. The droning style reminds me of Townsend's playing a bit. Good to see the band during this period.

Sounds just like the record. Berry was a machine! Sounds like he's playing to a click.
