Florey researchers Associate Professor Yugeesh Lankadeva, Professor Clive May and Professor Rinaldo Bellomo (Austin Health) have proven that a formulation they pioneered, pH balanced sodium ascorbate, alleviates deadly sepsis, with the next phase of clinical trials to start rolling out across Australia next month.
The researchers also say that sodium ascorbate is cheap and easily stored, which will facilitate rapid clinical uptake, particularly in low income countries.
