Scaphoid fracture in the wrist is no joke. It rarely ever heals back to 100% because of such little blood flow. Broke mine 6 years ago and till this day its bothers me to do anything requiring bending my wrist like a pushup. Hopefully Pogacar recovers fully cause this bone is an annoying one to break.

Thanks for this review. Absent Pogacar from the race, Remco definitely the strongest & very wise to slow the pace on the final set of descents in that rain. Pidcock again hitting the energy wall and then recovering his legs after loading up on calories.

Two fractures in the wrist for Pog. He will not be able to train out of the saddle for a quite a while, and it may affect his ability to fight for bonus seconds and stage wins, especially considering he will not be able to work in the gym as he is used to. TT might be a problem too, since the wrists are in such an awkward position. He should be able to train on his TT bike with suboptimal hand position, but he might need to change his setup because of this. Probably a lot of stationairy training. Wrist injuries can be minor, but sometimes they are a huge problem. I had one a few years ago, with no broken bones, but immense pain. I couldn't _run_ for almost 3 weeks. Yes, I could not even jog (with a proper bandage), becuase my wrist hurt too bad.

We belgians would have like to see a duel between the best 2 riders of the world! we where all verry disapointed pogacar was out of the race. For the season itself for quick step this dosnt make it all good. A lot of bad luck and a strong pogacar didnt made it possible for quick step to win a great classic. They cant do it every season !! annyway remco is reddy to start the giro.

A scafoid fracture is a bitch for those that don’t know. It has a poor blood supply so requires surgery a lot of the time as the healing of it on its own is very poor so needs surgery to pin it. I’d expect him to be out of races for minimum 6 weeks due to the injury but more because of returning to fitness. Fingers crossed he’s okay

What have we done to the cycling god? After Paris-Roubaix (Degenkolb getting crashed and WvA with the flat tire) now again a monument without any suspense because Pogacar crashed. Remco just rode away, not like 2022 when he tried to kill his bike and the road.

Scaphoid is a serious break. The bone has a very limited blood supply and if there’s a non-union it can take a while to heal.

Nah, the classics season isnt saved for Soudal Quick-step by winning this single race. They have tried being competitive in a lot of the races but just got overshadowed by other teams. If winning LBL makes the classics season a success they might as well skip all the non-mandatory races and only show up to the 1.UWT races
