Please please do as many as you maybe can. I have mixed apnea. I had a full sleep study the other night and she started me at cpap at 12cm and had to switch to force me to breath with no obstruction. She dialed me in but the hospital doctor recommended 6 to 12cm but said epap. I can't do nasal. I'm a mouth breathing Neanderthal

I just received the Remedē implant. I’m really looking forward to my life getting back to some sort of normalcy. The last 2 years have been an absolute nightmare. The cognitive issues I’ve developed are not only embarrassing but life altering. I was told this was all due to the CSA.

Diagnosed with Cheyne Stokes or Periodic Breathing? Cognitive problems are typically associated with fragmented REM sleep. REM sleep is usually intact with Central Sleep Apnea. 🧐

I used to be able to fall asleep Within minutes. Now as soon as I start to fall asleep I wake up immediately while I'm dozing off because my oxygen is dropping I literally cannot fall asleep or stay asleep for longer than 3 or 4 hours at a time I feel like giving up. I used to only get this feeling after a night of drinking and it would only last a day or two I don't even drink anymore and haven't drank for almost a year and this just came out of nowhere and it's not going away I don't know what to do. I did a sleep study at home and now I'm waiting for my results

Hey Jason, thanks for this info; very interesting. I’ve got really bad complex apnea (initial sleep study AHI was 116.) I’m on an ASV and it’s been very therapeutic but I had lots of trouble falling asleep because it was fighting my breathing pattern. I took your advice from an old video and changed my breaths-per-minute setting from 12 to AUTO and it made a world of difference. So thanks for that. In addition to the apnea, I also had a TIA and two years later an actual stroke. Since then they’ve discovered I have a PFO in my heart. The apnea, PFO and stroke are just one big shit sandwich of interrelated, interdependent conditions. I’m going to have the PFO closure procedure done and hopefully it’ll greatly improve my apnea situation. Depending on how that shakes out, I may need to get a sleep analysis from you. Sorry to write you this novel but I just wanted you to know that your videos are always entertaining and informative. I almost never comment but I always watch and I really appreciate you. Thanks man.

@@travv88 Dreamstation ASV. I know the enforced breathing rate is meant to be protective against centrals but it was just horrible. Having that air rammed down the pipe when I was on a natural exhalation was more disruptive to my sleep than the apneas.

I believe I have self diagnosed CSA. Over the past few years what happens is that sometimes I awake in the morning with a feeling of sheer panic running through the entire body, not a mental anxiety or that I had a bad dream, just an undefined panic. Then noticed over a few months that after I fell asleep, I would have a dream and then wake up in a panic again, and find that I've only slept for an hour (Normally REM dreams start around 90 mins I'm told?) Last night I had insomnia and I didn't sleep a wink, but I think I caught what's going on this time, I felt the feeling of panic arising and thought it was anxiety for not being able to sleep, but then I noticed that I had stopped breathing! In deep relaxation I'd breath out, but then it just, stayed there, no motion. This was noticed several times during the 'night' which was really disturbing, I could not trust myself to keep breathing! Could this be true CSA?

So when i talk to people that have sleep apnea, then ask Which Kind? ofcourse they don't have any idea. I have Central, and really the only way i know this is Watching You.....you and these types of vids.... I understand most people have Obstructive, they might not even know what to call it other then Sleep Apnea. When i was diagnosed 10 years ago, I started to look for more info...and was lucky to come across You....thanks man... p.s..... one of my symptoms was waking up and having my head filled with mucus, which for years i was taking cold medication thinking it would help...ofcourse actually raised my blood pressure like crazy...

Regarding central apnea and "fart sounds" masks. I honestly believe it's not that the body is forgetting to breath. I think Centrals are better described as the body REFUSING to breath and often doesn't appreciate you forcing air down there. How is the Remede working?

Just had a CRT because of suffering from the nasty RV pacing syndrome. Pacing Syndrome occours in a year or two with the old 2 lead PMs, leading to poor EF and CSA. The CSA index decreased to ~0.1 after CRT operation, before CRT AHI was 37.

Past 30 days I'm averaging 1.3 ahi per hr. That's pretty good . I take two beet root capsules before bed and I swear by them that they help lower my ahi. No crap. Either way best of luck to you with your sleep apnea.

I have central apnea and hypo breathing and wrong breathing with short in long out and the like. But you have rained for over 8 minutes without breathing. Could that be true? But most are 1-2 min or less than that. I am 50 years old and had this at least from the age of 15. Probably got a high fever high enough to kill most people. I have an ASV machine and if I turn it on I must breathe at least 15 times in mine and it can breathe for me at 100%. Can't lie down respirator so set on 13 times and then it still often goes on and breathes for me. I always wake up exhausted and generally ill...My life is and has been terribly bad. Accused of being lazy and mischievous and more and not sick. It's hard to describe how bad I felt before the ASV machine. Having said that, I still don't feel well. Just not acutely ill anymore. But longing for death and to escape it all.For 4 years I have had ASV Philips dream blah blah reached. So untreated for about 30 years.Yes, my diagnosis is complex apnea......I have OSCAR and can see I have a leak all the time. 3 in leak to 3-40 I see in OSCAR and there in between then too. I have a leak all the time and can lie for example checking my 15 for 1 hour and peaks at 50 .I'm at the hospital but they do as little as they can and don't have ASV connected to them and they don't know my machine or resmed either.

Would have hoped that you mention the case of central apnea which is introduced by the CPAP therapy. I have the impression that this something which affects many more people like "pure" (typically heart-related) central sleep apnea. I am fighting with my therapy. As soon the pressure get's too high (which is not that high in actual numbers, a pressure above 5 or 5.6 is already high for me) my AHI goes up and reporting a lot of central apneas (up to 50%). I also see the typical increasing and decreasing breathing pattern for a large part of my sleep. I now stopped with CPAP, because my AHI with CPAP is between 12 and 24. That is basically the same like my untreated AHI... :-/ But I feel totally "foggy" and can barely function at the moment. Would ASV be a solution for that possibly?
@Freecpapadvice

Pressure induced Central Apneas would not be a true case of Central Apneas. This (Remede) would be a "potential" fix for actual Central Apneas. I do have a video on the other that you mention.

There is no way that I would submit to a Remede type device. This to me, is an experiment and I was once a lab rat in 1987 when I allowed the doctor to perform a Uppp surgery on me and guess what, it does not work. I also have many problems without that tissue that was removed from my airway. I will never submit to being a test case, again. Then there is the ASV device which friends have told me they can't deal with the excessive leak rate involved with those very expensive devices. I really need to loose weight, so this Thurs when my doctor reads my sleep study and finds central sa, I can't go with the human testing ideas at my expense. It will be keto dieting and fasting for me. Maybe with the reduced belly fat, I won't have so many false readings on my sleep study. No matter what, I will never be a lab rat again. By the way I really appreciate LankyLefty27's YT site. Great information for us rats.
